Same as VeraLite just Looks Different
The controller included with this kit is the same as the Mi Casa Verde VeraLite (white and green controller), however, it is not white and green and looks nothing like it. The guts, firmware, and everything else that matters is the same as the VeraLite. The reason for the different "packaging" is because this was made specially for TigerDirect (also owns the name Circuit City). This is a fantastic deal considering the VeraLite is about $100 and the PT camera is about $100.The kit comes with a TWO window/door sensors, TWO dimmer modules, camera, thermostat, motion sensor, and controller which was under $200 at the time of purchase (I noticed the price is a little higher now but still worth it, in my opinion)

Having previous experience with Vera controllers, i purchased 3 of these. One controller was dead on arrival and I returned it, I cant fault this on that account only. I kept the other two , but the cameras supplied are very poor, unreliable and should not be used in a critical situation. I use several models of Foscam cameras with excellent results but the camera supplied with this package is extremely poor. Worked out for me because the rest of the package is fine and I purchased when price was discounted greatly. Bottom line, buy it only at a discount proportional or greater to value needed to replace the camera with something that actually works.

It's On sale, got most of it working OK, we'll see how Tech support helps with pairing door sensors.
Purchased at Tiger Direct, they do have a $150 rebate in the form of an AmEx gift card until 02/01/2015.Keep in mind, this seems to be an older unit they are trying to get off shelves, as new units on Vera website are totally different looking. Hopefully they will support this for awhile, instead of claiming it's "obsolete" soon, as most electronics sales companies try to do. It isn't perfect, I wish it did some things it doesn't now. It had s few quirks pairing sensors, door sensors that should be default devices are something you need to search for. I did manage to pair them, but one had a low battery reading, so I tried to delete and re-pair them, now I cant re-pair them. Cam, thermostat, motion sensor and plug-in lamp modules all seem to work well. I tried to add a Tenvis IP Wireless webcam, but software wouldn't recognize it even with manually setting IP, MAC and URL for camera view. Using a Android device is another strange thing, my Samsung Galaxy S3 and a Acer tablet I have seem to get 2 different versions of software from Google Play, the tablet actually has more options for configuring alarms (proximity function in "scenes" menu) that you cant set up on a windows OS computer or the Samsung phone. Would like to see functions like an audible alarm on an android phone if system is alarmed and triggered, as well as accessing program on thermostat instead of just over riding the program with a manual setting. Setting sensitivity level for motion sensors would be nice as well. Pairing for devices in kit should be more straight forward and you shouldn't have to look for devices in a " other device" menu. Pairing to other brand webcams should be easier as well. A random on and off schedule for times when lights are on at night would be nice as well.
