Fun to read while covering all critical components of a case
This book is a must-read for aspiring consultants. It is fast and painless to get through while still providing all of the important skills and techniques needed to excel at case interviews. The first part of the book takes you through the overall structure and different parts of a case, and the second part provides 5 well-written practices cases that you can go through on your own or with a partner. In the first part, Warfield breaks down the key components of a case (e.g. intro, framework, quantitative questions, qualitative questions, conclusion) and details best practices for each area. He presents the most efficient and effective ways to excel and won’t waste your time belaboring the points or providing irrelevant methodologies. However, you will still walk away with knowing how to solve any type of case in the best way.In the second part, the book provides 5 practice interviews that mimic those you may see at a first or final round interview in any top consulting firm. They vary in difficulty from easier to more challenging, and will test all of the components analyzed in the first part. By the time you get through them, you’ll have a good sense of the different types of cases you’ll get during interviews and how to handle each section.I highly recommend this book, no matter where you are in the interview process. Even those who have done some case interviews and have read other case books can find it helpful to have the core information clearly and concisely presented. Beginners will also be able to walk away with a great foundational skill set for handling all kinds of cases.

Great Starting Point
Great starting point for prepping for a case interviews with MBB firm. With the help of this book I was able to secure a position with an MBB firm. This book on its own will not be enough, but is a quick read and a fantastic way to build a solid theoretical base to start practicing cases. I would recommend reading this book in the span of a week (taking notes along the way) and then jump straight into practicing cases. If you are short on time, this is the book for you.

Just what I was looking for: an efficient, effective how-to book on case interviews
Pros: The prose of the book is clear, straight to the point, and insightful. The book was easy to read and follow, and offered many nuggets of information packed into eleven chapters. There are plenty of examples that illustrate a “bad” candidate from an “exceptional” candidate. On top of that, the practice cases were well-written and gave me a sense that I was actually doing a case interview.Cons: I wish there were more practice cases to do, as they are written far better than any of the ones I’ve seen elsewhere.Overall: I’d recommend this book to a friend or colleague preparing for case interviews as the first book that they should read. It is worth every dollar that it is priced at!

Valuable, easy to read tips
I needed a book to help a student prepare for case interviews. Together, we used Hacking the Case Interview to help him focus on the essential elements of getting through and succeeding in an interview. This book does not repeat the standard frameworks that may or may not help you in the specific case you are given in an interview - no case will "fit" any of those. Instead, the author provides the framework to use in any case to make sure you frame the problem, focus on the important details, communicate clearly and come to a conclusion. His "framework" doesn't sound cookie cutter - so the candidate sounds more original and is free to actually think about the case. And, the student I worked with got final round interviews with MBB, has offers from two and will interview with the third later this week. This is likely not the only book to use - but I strongly encourage you to see it as one you should have.

You need this book!
Thanks to this book, I was able to get an MBB offer!Case interview can be intimidating at first. However, this book helps not only give insights of what case interview will be like, but also give my go-to framework that I use 90% of the time. It is easy to read and demystify the whole case interview process in plain language. You can easily finish this book in one day and be ready to face your first mock case interview the next day. That would be my recommendation to whoever is preparing case interview. Before you do anything else, before you schedule mock case interview, or even before you download McKinsey’s practice case, buy this book and read it! You’ll thank me later.

the best consulting book and case interview prep book period. it can prepare you for case interviews in one day sufficiently for early rounds beyond any doubt, possibly even later rounds.it is incredibly focused, streamlined, efficient at communicating information. Everyone who is interviewing at management consultants should read this book. it also has lots of good practice at the end.

The only “framework” you need
Hacking the Case Interview was the key to my success in consulting recruiting. Particularly if you have a baseline level of business knowledge and need to learn how to structure your thoughts, I’d highly recommend this book. The advantage of the framework here is that it prevents the interviewer from appearing too structured and allows him/her to showcase their natural business intuition / personality in a way that stands out from other candidates. I would note however that this book is quite short and you should supplement your practice with other prep resources. I recommend Rocket Blocks and business school case books. By following this strategy I was able to secure two offers from MBB after six weeks of preparation.

Very good with the potential to be the best with this little addition
Great book that is helping me prepare for my consulting interviews. Good framework suggestion and great explanations. I was however expecting more case studies in the book that are at a higher difficulty level . 5 cases is just too little. Very recommended but know you’ll have to find a resource for additional cases to practice

Outstanding- for me, better than Victor Cheng book and Case in Point
I don't normally leave reviews but I'm really grateful to the writer for this book. I found it clear, and concise, which replicates the calm structured mindset you need for your case interview. Every word has its purpose, and I found it super-helpful. This was also the book I turned to the night before the interview, as a useful revision. I also used the Case Study workbook by the same author. Of the three books I book, I'd put this one first, then Case in Point, then the Victor Cheng book which seems to want to make you feel less empowered so you buy his products.

Powerful tool if you are short on time
I just received an offer from one of the Big 4s. Used this book to prep for my case interview. Had not practised case interviews in 2.5 yrs since graduating from my MBA, and this book was a game changer. I only had 3 days to case prep and the simple buckets as frameworks in this book helped put simple and effective talking points on the sheet.. after that it was all verbal back and forth discussion with the interviewer. I would recommend this book!

100% recommended
I can only send a big Thank you to the author! This book helped me land an MBB offer after having previously received several rejections post-interview. Prior to coming across this book I had worked with Case In Point as well as Case Interview Secrets. While both books had left me "feeling" prepared, I never truly performed during the real interviews as the approach taught lacks intuition and creativity. Taylor's approach teaches you exactly that - an organic, natural and creative way of targeting the case. In addition, I invested in both the workbook and the online course. This is not at all sponsored but do yourself a favour and get these materials! It will be worth it.
