I bought this thinking it would outperform my Pfantone preamp I bought at RadioShack 20 years ago, which developed a pronounced hum. I was delighted to find this preamp has no hum, a low noise floor, and has decently high output. However, the signal lacks a little detail for more delicate music. It's certainly good enough to outfit a home stereo system for listening to pop/rock/rap music over speakers. The detail and noise floor won't be an issue at all. But if you're planning to listen to more delicate styles of music, like classical, piano, ballads, etc., on headphones, or hoping to digitize your collectable records, this preamp falls just a tad short. You'll want to roughly triple your budget if you're doing serious work.

The pre amp is very small but delivers quality sound. Would have expected it to cost a lot more than what it did.

Not getting noticeable hum or issues.It feels like a standard product under many enclosure types, so this seemed good for the price over others.

Used to convert old turntable to phone output and worked perfectly. Small enough to keep hidden away too.

I got a vinyl player for Christmas and was so excited, but when i plugged it in, unless the hifi was turned to max i couldn't even hear it. Even then, it was soooo quiet. I bought this and as soon as i plugged the vinyl player into this and plugged this into the hifi (Very easy process), it was BOUNCING!There is however no volume control on this unit, not that it matters to me, but i was asked to rate that so I guess i'll give it a 3? As i control the volume with my hifi anyways. This made such a difference and for the price it is an absolute BARGAIN!
