A great pen, though not as "fine" as others
I only have two fountain pens: the Pilot Metropolitan (classic black, fine nib), and this one--so I have to compare them.Look and feel: Picasso wins. The Pilot is boring and looks more like a tapered cigar than a pen. The Picasso grip is slightly thinner, which I like. Uncapped, the Pilot weighs 16 grams, the Picasso 19.5 grams, not much difference there. Sliding the cap on the Picasso is more enjoyable; it feels like a better seal. I'm using ink cartridges with the Pilot, and the Picasso has the twist type converter, which I prefer (it's a bit more romantic). (I'm using Parker Quink Blue-black ink.)How they write: Though both pens claim to be "fine", the Picasso is really more of a medium. The Picasso writes a bit smoother given the larger nib. I just prefer the finer line of the Pilot. This frustrated me initially because I liked everything else about the Picasso. Then, for some reason, I tried the Picasso upside-down (using the back of the nib), and surprisingly the line is solid and slightly finer than the pilot. There's a little more friction and the ink doesn't flow as easily, but I can see myself writing this way whenever I use the Picasso. (This also affords the ability to sometimes write in bold using the thicker line.)Bottom Line: If you're ok with more of a medium line, definitely go with the Picasso. If you're willing to compromise for the better look and feel of the Picasso by writing upside-down for a finer line, go with the Picasso. Otherwise go with the Pilot.

The ink flow is choppy at best. Perhaps it is an issue with the nib ...
The pen is definitely attractive, but as far as ink flow, it is quite sub par, unfortunately. I have washed it in mild soap, tested it on different paper weights and inks to no avail. The ink flow is choppy at best. Perhaps it is an issue with the nib design. I may give the Picasso's ONE MORE try, and purchase another model and see if it is a matter of a fluke nib. I think the manufacturer could do a little better at QA'ing their products to ensure a better writing performance...Update as of 4-12-18: Amazon will NOT refund my money because this order was past their 30 day return policy!Update: 4-21-18 Ok...I went ahead and bought another pen like the previous one....same sub-par performance. Ink dries up between uses; I would like any feedback concerning inks that work well with this pen, or I am calling this one a dud.Update: 4-23-18 Success! I found an ink sold by Hobby Lobby ("Manuscript" brand) that works GREAT with this pen. So...the Picasso pen has redeemed itself in my book and I will be purchasing more from this seller who deserves a great rating because if his willingness to help me with the previous issues I had with other pens. Thanks Dean!

Fantastic pen, fantastic price
This was my very first Picasso pen. I fell in love with it and purchased 2 more not long after. It arrived pretty quickly from China in a beautiful presentation box. The pen is, simply put, stunning. The black with the gold trim lends a richness to the appearance and the craftsmanship is wonderful. It writes very well, simply gliding across paper, both cheap copy paper as well as really nice writing papers (Rhodia and Clairefontaine). The nib is a medium, has ever-so-slight line variation without being a stub and is perfectly balanced. I personally don't like to post the cap when writing, but it posts securely if you do prefer to post it. I carry this pen with me most days since it has a very rich appearance, yet it's inexpensive enough to make me not break out in hives at the thought of misplacing it. People often comment on it when they see me writing with it because it's such a striking-looking pen. More importantly, however, is the writing performance is without fault. I love it and highly recommend this brand and pen. It's well-worth the (low) price. The only possible thing I wish was a little bit different, is the glossiness shows fingerprints more than I would like, but I simply wipe it with a soft cloth every now and again and all is well.

This got the 5th star for heavier weight, Buy!
I wrote a 4 star review of a Lighter weight Picasso, which my only complaint was the weight, so I held 1 star simply to give 5 here. The delivery system {If maintained like any fountain pen, should be} it's incredible, understandable but still incredible that these owns are this price. I own 20 fountain pens, I draw, sketch, journal, prof write, Both Okd English and Kanji/Kana Calligraphy, I use speedballs, and fountain pens, and this is a med to fine tip daily writer. If maintained as any fountain pen needs, I would use this as a journaling pen in a heartbeat,. But I'm already using a Picasso! AA++ use the correct ink!!
