A Masterpiece Of NLP
I've dabbled in NLP for years and have never seen a book that is so practical and easy to use as this one. Some NLP books are dry as the Sahara and overly technical in jargon, others are too much into "basic self help" which equates to common sense, something that doesn't cut as deep as NLP can get. This book is neither, it is accessible to a mainstream audience, but isn't just a "beginner's" book wherein the reader has heard it all before. I'm looking forward to using the tools inherent in this book, both for myself, and for persuading or helping others. Highly Recommended!

Very good - and complex
It is not what I thought it would be to be honest.I like lots of examples and this book does not have as many as I thought it would. Sleight of mouth in action is a wonderful way to understand and to learn it. Unless i missed something, I did not get this out the book.Having said that, it is well written, and full of all the NLP'isms that NLPers seem to love.

Dilts' First and Best Work...
Both therapeutic and the basis for being persuasiveto protect your own interests, this is a classic andstill valid today. I highly recommend it for any NLPpractitioners library. The complete works of Dr. Michael L. Hallare the most complete and powerful on the subject and Hall's treatmentof NLP under the umbrella of Neuro Semantics leads to new possibiitesbased upon both NLP, Social Psychology (Abraham Mazlow and others)as well as Cognitive psych which Dr. Hall has a ph.d in and has practicedfor more than 25 years, even before his interest in nlp.

Great understanding
Dilts, the author, has a great grasp of NLP. He keeps an involved subject clear so most of us mortals can understand it. What he covers is a serious subject not turned into a pop culture thing like Tony Robbins. Those who are serious about understanding other people and developing leadership skills should buy this book and study it. Although well written it takes some effort to assimilate the principles Dilts so aptly presents. But then calculus was much more difficult. Also, Amazon service again was beyond excellent. How do they deliver so quickly?Gene

Great tool for those who want to be more effective communicators
Great book and further teachings on NLP from from one of the masters. The workbook is also a valuable resource. There are a lot of books on this subject. Many are fluff, or too confusing or downright garbage in my opinion. Since Dilts and Bandler are two of the pioneers of the field, it might make sense to learn from them and develop a solid foundation. A current leader in this field is Michael Bernoff, although, he has yet to write a book.

Fantastic read
If you are into NLP in a big way then this is more or less a MUST READ. It is far from the easy "do it yourself" style that you get from the likes of Tony Robbins (who is also good but in a different way) it is aimed as NLP Master practitioner level readers. It's full of great explanations and examples. I recommend reading it a few thousand times. As an NLP coach, I find the slight of mouth patterns a huge help in my sessions. This is an excellent book.

Good!
Goes over some good techniques and has a lot of knowledge packed in there. I still like the John Grinder and Richard Bandler books on Erickson a little bit better though.
