The wood watch box comfortably holds 12 watches. Also has a drawer with three sections for straps, tools, pocket watches, etc. A fourth center center section holds rings and/or earrings. The cushions are tight so thick rings are a snug fit.The top section of the watch case has a glass lid. The compartments for the watches come with the little display pillows. Though a bit thin they work well enough to wrap the band around and raise the watch up. They are 54 mm deep so the pillows are necessary to elevate the watch (pillows are ca. 40 mm thick). The compartments for the watches are ca. 48 mm wide. Large watches will be a difficult to impossible fit (watches over 48 mm like Invicta, Tauchmeister, Marina Militare, or sport/military multifunction). The stem and/or push buttons will overhang or intrude into the neighboring compartment.The case has thin rubber pads on the bottom to keep it from sliding around when opening the bottom drawer.Overall the fit & finish are fine. Received it undamaged and am happy with the cost. Would buy again.

This watch box is not perfect, but for the money, it is good value. Some reviews criticize the finish as rough. There are some small rough spots on the box, but for the price, they are more than acceptable. The box has decent metal hinges. Some call it a watch box kit that you can finish yourself. I don't disagree with that. A small piece of sandpaper followed by some stain or lacquer and this box could be truly beautiful. Again for the the low price, I don't mind doing the finishing work myself later on. But right now, I am enjoying the "rustic" look right now. Very happy with the quality and the price.

Great gift for a birthday or Father’s Day

I’m an amateur furniture maker. If I could have made a watch box of this size at twice the price, I would have. This is a good value, even if it’s not a high quality piece. For $38, you can’t beat such a complex item with so much material. With some love, it can appear like a far nicer piece as well. I used block plane to chamfer the edges of all the moving parts to hide some of the slop in the drawer and lid. I removed the lacquer finish and smoothed out the roughness with a scraper, and did 3 quick coats of shellac I rubbed out the shellac with 0000 steel wool and followed up with a thin coat of paste wax. The result looks like a decent heirloom piece with about 90 mins of work.

The thing looks nice enough, and it's put together well enough, and it's roomy enough for what I wanted. But somehow it's a bit underwhelming. I wasn't necessarily expecting exotic woods, but it looks and feels like it is made out of basic pinewood that has been stained black. There's not even any kind of varnish or sealer on it, and it feels lighter than I expected for its size.

In general I am very satisfied with this purchase. The general presentation is as advertised, the hinges and lock piece are smooth, the glass is clear , nice grain to the wood. It has high value since it is very good quality given the price. Zero serious problems with it, I am very happy with the purchase. The negatives are that the wood is roughly cut, and not polished at all. Again, it is very high quality for the price. But if you are looking for a shining gem of a watch case, heavy wood that is softly cut and perfectly polished, you will need to spend a lot more money and invest in a higher quality case. 5 star value, for the money spent you will be very happy with it.

Watch slot is a little tight for big watches, but it flexes a little to it still fits. Good product overall. The glass face is perfect for keeping my eco-drive watches charged while in storage. Cover glass is real glass, not plastic; and box is made of real wood.

Get what you pay for

I hardly ever leave a review but this was needed. The first shipment had a large hole in the side which lined up perfectly with a small dent on the front of the watch box. I assume that this damage took place in shipping so I sent it back not thinking anything of it.The replacement watch box that I ordered to replace it had numerous scratches in the wood that were crudly "touched up" by a black permanent marker. It was almost as if they had no idea that the colour difference would be noticed which is hilarious. I only included the larger marks in the photos but they had many others around the sides and back.Fit and finish was spotty but to be honest is was a 40 dollar product so what can you expect. Spend your money elsewhere and get something worth purchasing.
