Hawthorn hedging is incredibly tough, happy in almost any soil and easy to prune. Due to Hawthorne being very dense it still provides a good screen in winter when the leaves are bare. A Hawthorn hedge provides year round interest, masses of beautiful white blossom contrast with the dark wood in Spring. Lush green glossy foliage in Summer followed by big striking red haws in the Autumn. When blossom, foliage and berries have gone the black wood looks striking against a frosty winter day. Overall Disappointed
Arrived early. Well packed. Ordered 50, received 49. A third had good roots, a third minor roots, a third no roots.Planted properly and watered every two days. Initially some grew well but all were soon suffering from a blight covering the leaves. Some have grown and others not at all. A lot of work has gone into keeping these alive. I would buy larger if I had my time again and my experience with these plants has been very frustrating.
