I ordered this for my wife, who already has curling tongs already, just not a pair of automated ones like these.He first attempts at using them can be seen in the video and she’s pretty sure that with practice she’ll get much, much better in a very short space of time.She thought they were really good and the only issue she had was remembering to press the buttons to wind/unwind her hair, which meant things got a little bit hot to start with. As mentioned, this is purely down to practice and familiarity and nothing to do with the tongs themselves.They have a kind of pearlescent/metallic finish to the tube that traps and winds your hair which is quite pleasing, although the matte black rubberised grip does show up smudges, although it still feels good in the hand.The power cord swivels where it meets the body of the unit so it handles well and the ceramic plates get hot… really hot (as can be seen by the steam in the video).The textured rose gold buttons compliment the tongs well, have a nice click to them and are easy to find through touch alone.Overall, this is pretty good… it handles well and my wife will definitely use it more. I'm pretty sure that with a bit of practice her hair will be perfectly curled in no time at all.

Does nice curls

Big, clunky and despite other reviews, does not work. I thought the price would match its quality, but not at all. Missed return deadline too so not happy.

I loved this automatic curlerIt’s easy to use and curls stay in .Sadly I had to return as the curls didn’t suit me , I’m more of a loose wave girl , but non the less I can see this being a hit for others wanting a curly do

On opening this box you are greeted with everything you need for curling your hair, there’s a drawstring pouch to store the tongs, the cable has a Velcro strap for ease of storage, there’s a glove and a couple of clips for sectioning. The curling iron heated quickly and I found that the directional arrow buttons, rotate left or right, were positioned well making it really easy to operate with my thumb without looking. On first use my fingers were obviously positioned too high up the tong handles because the ‘plastic lever press’ hit my finger as it was rotating and that did hurt. This lever handle does actually seem a bit long by design as I’ve seen shorter ones on similar tongs, which is why I dropped a star. The first time I used the curler I didn’t get very good results either, but when I tried it a second time I look much small sections of hair and it curled them beautifully. Both times I had it at 180 degrees.The fact that this does rotate made styling my hair much quicker, and it felt safer than having to wind my hair around the iron manually - less chance of accidental burns. For the current price - just under £60.00 this feels like good value as the quality is there, the kit is nice, it just takes a bit of practice when starting out.
