A must-have for soap makers!
Very nice quality paper, interesting and informative history of milk and soap making, extremely helpful directions and explanations that leave you feeling informed instead of ignorant, step-by-step instructions all the way from making the molds, to a safe work environment, to the finished product. Very diverse selection of recipes, something for everyone to choose from. My favorite is the lavender lace soap!

Soap making
This is a great little booklet. It was free, and a good read. I highly recommend it to anyone that is interested in making soaps. I like to read a wide variety on a subject before I take it on as a project.

soap making the traditional way
This is a great book to show how to make soap the traditional way, does not hit on many points about buying modern soap procedures.

Can't wait
I knew absolutely nothing about soap making. Now I feel confident that I can do this. This book is berry helpful an detailed. I would recommend this book to any beginner. I am berry excited to get started.

Not Impressed
I typically enjoy the Storey's Country booklets, but this one disappointed me. First, if you are new to soap making I suggest you start with other books such as Jan Berry's Simple and Natural Soap Making. Second, I have never made milk soap where I froze the milk and then thawed it before adding the lye. It is much easier and less messy to just add the lye to the frozen milk. Third, the recipe they have is HUGE and they don't give you the percentages so you can cut it down. And last but not least, I wasn't overly impressed with the ingredients they used. (I don't use borax in my soap, although for a good hand soap I can see a use for it.) I've ordered several of these little booklets and have enjoyed them...this one...not so much.

great starter book
This was one of the first books I read on soap making, it is very good and covers the basics well with a lot of good info for doing soap without a big investment in equipment.

No está mal.
No es exactamente un libro, es un folleto, pero la información que contiene es la que se ofrece en la página.

Dont waste your money
Tried to make the soap in this book, and it separated. I followed the recipe and instructions very carefully, however one VERY important bit of information was missing from this book. That is, when making soap which contains milk and/or honey, there is no need to insulate. Insulation causes the soap to overheat and separate. This I found out from another source, AFTER I had attempted to make the soap in this book. This information really should have been included somewhere in the book.
