High flying space action!
I stared at the cover of Skyward for 2 years before I finally bought it. It *looked* like something I’d like. I read it and the sequel Starsight immediately following. Bought Cytonic upon release thinking it was the last book of a trilogy. It was not. So I preordered Defiant. The final book of the series (or is it?). Got two pages in and realized the collection of short stories would be required reading. So I doubled back, read the Skyward Flight collection, and now have finished the entire series. Except the “Universe will continue in Skyward Legacy”. Which I’m glad. I thinks it’s a universe full of interesting stories. The stories follow Spensa, the daughter of a disgraced fighter pilot. Her dream is to soar into the sky and defend her homeworld of Detritus from the alien Krell. She also may possess the “defect” that could destroy them all. The first book has a real Top Gun or Iron Eagle feel. It could also be reminiscent of How to Train Your Dragon now that I think about it.At first, I wasn’t sure I really liked Spensa. Or her spaceship AI, M-Bot. The universe she populated and the world building involved was really interesting, though, so I stuck with them. Technically, these are “young adult” novels (a definition I find almost meaningless). So maybe you can forgive an old guy for finding them a little annoying at first. I think the characters really hit their stride by the finale. The last two mainline novels really took Spensa through some splendid character growth. I hadn’t really realized how invested I’d gotten in the characters until I was getting choked up during the last few chapters of Defiant. I really liked the series. The mythology. The alien types. I really really want the kitsen to exist. I literally just ordered a Kitsen plushie from DragonSteel books. Overall, Skyward is a fast paced action adventure scifi buddy story. It does what it set out to do: tell a ripping yarn!

Missing pages…
Love the conclusion just wish I didn’t lose out on 30 pages. Really makes me sad because this is one of my favorite series. I just don’t want to go through the whole hassle of returning it, wish they could just send a new one, since it was an issue out of my control. It is what it is.

Classic Sanderson
Fourth and final book of the Skyward series. It's a classic Sanderson novel, good writing, interesting story and characters, a few twists and turns before a fitting resolution. If you haven't read the first 3 books, don't start here. If you have, you'll want to finish the series.

Solid ending to a really fun series
These books were perfect vacation reads, though this one did make me cry. Great action, moments where you weren’t sure where it was going, and a satisfying ending.

Another great Sanderson book
The character development is always good. I love that his teen novels are still deep enough and rich enough for any age to read.

Skyward Finale
A good finale to the Skyward Series. I don't like that Spensa gets less action this book, because it is a moral about the power of friendship, even though she spent the first three books establishing her badass credentials. Otherwise a good finish with the ending making sense with potential for Skyward Legacy.

how does he do it?
Brandon Sanderson is a genius! His stories take you, literally, worlds way and he doesn’t release you…ever! I simply love his epic masterpieces!

Brilliant book
Sanderson continues this series with his usual storytelling brilliance. I loved this book.

Me encanto
Es un buen final.Pero definitivamente debes leer el libro complementario de aventuras antes de leer este libro. Aunque puede resumir los puntos importantes en un párrafo cuando es necesario.
