Acu-Dog: A Guide to Canine Acupressure

UPDATE: after reading the book I used the techniques and gave my dog a session. She has a spinal injury and hasn't been able to walk for almost three weeks. I have her on all the medication the vet will allow, with hit and miss results.After the session, I didn't notice anything different for the remainer of the night.However, this morning my girl stood up and walked outside all by herself, without falling or crying in pain!I wholeheartingly believe in energy healing, but I'm so blown away by this result! I'll be giving both my dogs sessions once a week for life!Super in depth review of the origins and philosophy. Way more in his book than I expected! I absolutely loved it. It's going to take many times going over all the information, (it's overwhelming) but I'd rather have too much information rather lack thereof.No fluff, to the point and all information is highly useful.

This is a great book for beginners. Lots of info and clear diagrams on pressure points. One of my “go to” books when my pets are feeling off. Love this book. Has helped me a lot.

The history is very interesting. The book is easy to read and follow. The illustrations are clear and easy to use.

I purchased their first book "The Well Connected Dog" in 2002 and loved it. My vet is doing acupuncture on one of my dogs and brought out "Acu-Dog". I hadn't seen their new book so ordered it and it is wonderful. Great pics, great detail and a wonderful tool. They even have an "Acu-Dog" app for your phone! Love it so much enrolled in one of their on-line classes.

If you want to help your dog live a healthier life without drugs and going to the vet all the timethen this is the book to get! I do energy work anyway but this book explains about the energycenters and where to work for different challenges. I highly recommend Acu-Dog! I've told manypeople about it and they were thrilled to learn of it.

I am not familiar with the Meridien system for dogs. Good instructions but only if one is committed to really using trying acupressure for their dog, cos it takes time to assimilate the info, understand, follow the chart and do as instructed. As a reference book with going to a class it will be fantastic!

Great study workbook, clearly set out, ring binding makes it easy to flip between pages when practising acupressure with a dog.

This book was very disappointing for me. As a beginner with no knowledge of acupressure but with a keen interest in helping my dog with his skin issues, I bought this book to make an honest effort in helping my dog. This book starts off great and I was hopeful that I was going to learn. (FYI, the "Look Inside" preview leads a person to believe that this is written for an interested layperson.) But soon I knew I was over my head. The information came fast and furious and I felt like it was leaving me behind without recognition that I had no foreknowledge. My honest advice is this: If you do not have knowledge of a dog's anatomy and little to know education in acupressure, this is not the book for you. I feel that the author is not clear and transparent in who her directed audience is. Be upfront about it. If this book is written for those with some prior knowledge, indicate that in the product description. I should have heeded the advice from other reviews. I figured that I'm fairly scholarly, have a higher education, and could find my way through the information. Nope! This is not a simplified version of acupressure. Buy at your own risk. Now I'm off to look for another way to help my dog.
