Inspiring and Motivational
I am an avid runner and was looking forward to reading this book. It is the first book of the series "chicken soup" that I read. I love the book. It has a variety of different stories from different types of people ranging from the beginner runner to the serious amateur runner to the olympic athlete and the ultra-marathoner.It is truly inspiring to read about what humans are capable of. It makes me want to go for a run and push my limits a little more every time I read this book. It can also be emotional at times. I have found myself crying about the ending of story while reading at the rink during my son's hockey game.... a little bit embarassing but all the more worth it because it reaches your deepest feelings.I highly recommend this book.

awesome collection of running stories
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this collection.1st, I like the Chicken Soup series in general....I've read a few over the decades...but this one is SO GREAT. I can see me re-reading these stories again a time or two in the years to come.If you run, jog, or power-walk....and I do all three off and on...you'll appreciate this book.

Short Stories from Runners
I like that the stories are short and the different inspiring stories are unique. I haven't finished the book yet but what I read so far is fine and is inspiring.

Great Book
I bought this book because I'd just begun running at my local gym. Although I'm a long way from being where some of them are, this book was very encouraging and motivating. I'd recommend it for anyone really, because it can help you get motivated and not give up on your dreams.

Everyday inspiration for every age group and situation
The individual stories were hit and miss. But, perhaps that's the point? The book offers the full gamut of perspectives: from office warriors turned ultra-marathoners, to cancer survivors, teens discovering the joy of running, to marathoners in their 80's. Everyone will find an inspirational example - or several. Who would have thought that the simple act of putting one foot in front the other could be such an inspiration to so many?Don't expect to pick up any training tips - for that you'll need a different book. But it just might give you enough "kick" to lace up those running shoes!

Chicken Soup for the soul:Runners
Great read. Inpsirational stories to make you want to get out and run if your a runner or a non-runner. Great stories for runners that let us know we are not alone on the roads. Recommend any runner to pick this up.

Money for old rope
I really enjoyed a book I read by Dean Karnazes (The Ultramarathon man) but this collection of audio files is just too bad for words. The people reading the scripts read every word so slowly it's impossible to get into it. The stories themselves are sometimes trivial or like low quality Hollywood movies. I think it was just an idea by the producers to make a quick buck. If you're a bit of a softie and not able to judge something on its merits (of which this really has none), you might like this. However, if you're able to critically evaluate things and if you loathe American cliché stories, do not buy this.

Fab!
I bought this for my brother-in-law who is a keen runner and I've had nothing but praise from him. He says it was the best birthday present he got that year.
