A very useful Weather Station product
I already owned one of these UV Sensors as part of an Oregon Scientific Weather Station system I'd purchased a few years ago. Unfortunately, the original UV Sensor stopped working recently & therefore needed replacing - hence the new purchase. Until it packed up I was very pleased with the unit's performance and how well it worked, so I'm hoping the replacement unit will work as well & last even longer. I've rated it 4* because the original unit failed sooner than anticipated; otherwise 5*

Accurate Sensor
I have been using this sensor for some weeks now and it is performing well and the readings are quite accurate compared ewith local met stations.A good addition to my Oregon weather station.

UVN800 sensor only works during the Winter if placed at an angle towards the sun!
I bought this sensor just over 4 months ago, despite the negative reviews. It is expensive and should have been included in the already expensive unit, but I don't regret having it installed. I reckon that the reason for some of reviews stating that it doesn't work despite the sun shining is due to the low angle during the winter. The holders that come as standard make the sensor look straight up into the sky where during the winter it can't make any readings. With much palaver and ingenuity I attached mine at an angle to face the sun when it does appear on the horizon. December showed the occasional 1, but now (mid February) I get two's and three's.I have given it only three stars as it is expensive and should include a mechanism to angle the sensor. Otherwise I am happy with the unit.Update 27/08/2016: I had the sensor for 10 months, it has now stopped functioning, Amazon is arranging a refund.

This works as it should and has been giving reliable results since installing on the roof of our greenhouse. For reference people should be aware that the reading never goes above 8 in the UK and this is correct...

I would NOT advise anybody to buy this product. I have had 2 within the last 3 years and both of them stopped working. They are expensive for what they are and they do not seem to be very accurate in their readings. The last one I bought was in July this year to replace the one that stopped working prior to this. The new one has suddenly stopped working for no apparent reason. I changed the batteries and reset it but it wouldn't restart - this is what happened with the old one. I will NOT be buying a new sensor and will rely on the local weather forecast for UV readings. For anybody who is comtemplating buying this sensor - DON'T and save your money.
