Is one out of two okay?
I've edited this review and changed the rating from 3 to 5 based on the support of the vendor. After my review the vendor contacted me and offered to send a new kit to replace the defective item. It has arrived. I consider this very good customer support.I purchased two of these kits during the summer and have just now gotten around to assembling them for Christmas. The first went together fine; everything works as expected. The second went together fine, however 11 of the leds would not light. I replaced three and they worked okay, but when I tried to replace D28 with a known good led, not only would it not light, but the entire second half of the bell stopped working. I couldn't find any support from the vendor to report the issue, so I'm just letting you all know you may get a good one, and maybe not. I believe there is a circuit issue, but since I can't speak to the vendor...

Great Kit (Star kit SMD, Hearts are thru hole)
Great kit. Small, fast, and fun - but your experience will depend on your electronics familiarity... There are no instructions, but you really shouldn't need any. (If you NEED instructions, this is not the kit for you.)The hearts should be good for anyone. The stars have small surface mount components. (If you aren't familiar with soldering surface mount stuff, save yourself the frustration and get a different kit.) Good luck.

Easy to assemble
The media could not be loaded. The package included printed installation steps, parts list, and schematic. 3 kits are included so I think this kit is a good value.I added a pin header to easily connect power. The pin header is not included in the kit. Alternatively you can solder a power connection directly to the board. Some tips for assembly:LED's need to be installed in the correct orientation. Printed on the board there is an icon of an arrow with a line on the side of it. The shorter lead on the LED should be on the side with the line.Ensure you install the IC with the notch matching the notch printed on the board. There is a capacitor that should be installed in the proper orientation. You will notice a white stripe down the side of the capacitor designating the negative side. Match this side with the white stripes on the board. The resistors can be installed in any orientation. The orientation of the other components should be obvious based on the marking on the board.Resistor Color Codes:Brown Black Orange - 10k OhmsRed Red Black - 22 OhmsBrown Black Yellow - 100k OhmsYellow Violet Orange - 47k OhmsThe rate of the pulsating can be adjusted by turning the potentiometer. Once I adjusted the dial I needed to toggle the power using the power switch to set the new pulsation speed.

No power
Does not come with any power input. Had to splice USB cable to power the circuits.

Just okay
Missing 3 power sources . Would be nice if I didn’t have to buy 3 AA boxes separately...

Very easy to use!
This is very easy to use. My kids (teenagers) actually did it for fun! It did not come with English directions, when I messaged them about it, they immediately sent me the link to print it out!

Dissapiinted
Since i purchased this item to learn to solder, this item doees not work. Advanced soldererees prefered. Instructions not clear. States to solder pcs. That have no markings. So solder this to that mKes no sense, sorry just my opinion.

No instruction?!
Thought it is a good DIY kit for kids to learn soldering. Unfortunately, there is no instruction. Even I myself could not figure out which is what and how to put them together. Returned.

Pretty simple project, great for learning.
These are fun to put together. When you turn them on, all the lights fade up and down together, and you can adjust the brightness with the dial. Very simple circuit, but very inexpensive also!
