I did some research to get rid of some feral cats. I will say, I was VERY skeptical but it quickly sent the cats to bother someone else’s dogs!

urban assault team was not phased
The raccoons have been feasting on the grubs in our new sod. A particular challenge given the tenacity of the juvenile animals. We bought this, hung it following all directions to no avail. Our "urban assault team" tore the bag from its hanger & tossed it in to the middle of the yard. We have since moved on to an automated, motion sensing sprinkler that has held the critters at bay. We recommend you do the same.

good supplement to the sprinkle product from the same company
I use several different types of deer repellent- 1 type is rarely enough if you have deer in your area. I hang these packs up high in the area I want to protect. They will last for 2 months and sometimes an entire summer. They continue to work through many rainstorms. They don't smell great, but not nearly as bad as the rotten egg products. Hang them high or your dogs will pul them down and eat them and roll in them. I also use the sprinkle product from the same company. It works better and smells better, because it has a mint odor, but doesn't last as long.

just a gimmic
This bag is hanging from my snap pea plants...yet the dear are still eating my plant! so, don't waste your money. I have tried everything and essentially just need a fence.

didn't work on javelinas
The javelina is technicaly a rodent and they have free reign here in Tucson. This stuff says it repells them, but it doesn't. I've been told those pigs will eat a license plate. they'd have eaten the Shake Away if they could have reached it.

It smells ripe
I would warn anyone who purchases this not to tear open the outer bag indoors. You will be spraying air freshener everywhere afterwards if you do. You might also want to wear gloves. I was able to wash the smell off my hands, but whoa, what a smell it was. This is the bag of granules that you hang from a tree or fence post to ward off critters, not the type you scatter around on the turf. The best place to hang it is an area that regularly gets a stiff breeze, so that the smell travels. Oh my goodness, what a smell it is. Seriously, if it smells that pungent to me then how must it smell to the critters? I hung mine in a narrow strip of yard leading into a mangrove, which is where the raccoons like to sneak in and then make their escape after raiding the neighborhood garbage cans. We'll see if it has any effect or not.Edited to update: first garbage night and no sign of raccoons! Normally they just retreat to the end of the block when I bring out the garbage and come right back as soon as I'm inside the house. Tonight they were nowhere to be seen, nor were any of my neighbor's garbage cans tipped over. What I did see were the neighborhood house cats, normally skittish, all prancing around like little divas. So, there's that. But I'd much rather have them investigating the garbage than the raccoons.

Didn't work for me.
I bought this product after researching ways to get my dogs to 'go' where I want her to. She didn't give this a second sniff. She hates coyotes, so I thought it would make her want to cover it with her own urine, but it didn't. It may work as a deterrent, but it didn't as I wished it to.
