Smokin Beans 5-Pound Guatemala Antigua Freshly Roasted Coffee, Washed Processing, Medium Roast, Premium Whole Bean Specialty Coffee

I bought a sack on a whim to roast stove top style and was surprised to find as many stones/rocks as I did. I roasted a single layer in a 10 inch pan and found a dozen or so little stones; next batch same thing, maybe a few less. I haven't roasted beans before so maybe that's normal. To be clear, it wasn't the presence of stones that I thought unusual but the number of them -- seemed like an inordinate amount.As for the de-stoned beans, they were just fine and I really enjoyed roasting them myself. It was fun and the coffee was terrific.EDIT: I checked around and indeed this is an abnormal amount of stones. Also learned that it really varies. There are literally hundreds of thousands of coffee farmers and processing variability is all over the place. I realize this exporter can't be expected to check every single bag but at least he has some feedback on this particular lot and can adjust accordingly and as he sees fit. I'll buy from him again -- in about a year. :-) At the rate I'm going, this sack is going to last me a long time. I think I'll save all the stones from here on out and post a pic when I work my way through the bag. My guess is that I end up with 5/8 of a small preserve jar.

I've used beans from this region for years and I have no idea what's going on with this batch. Not only have I never associated the flavor profiles on the bag with this region but they are not present in this batch of beans... so I'm not sure why they were advertised as such. It's not coffee but it's not what I wanted and not what was advertised. I'm not sure if I'll order from this vendor again.

This blend is great! Since this is a blend some of the beans roast faster than others which helps balance the smooth body and slightly fruity flavor of the coffee. However, be careful when going for a dark roast as some of the faster roasting beans can easily end up burnt. I started bringing my freshly roasted Roaster's Delight Blend to work and everyone loves it! I have even had people ask me what kind of coffee it was because, and I quote, "That stuff had me wired like an espresso!" Which, if you are used to store bought coffee, this will.Bottom line: I recommend this to my friends and I will by more in the future. The shipping was fast and I even received a coupon for 20% off my next purchase from Smokinbeans!

Excellent quality beans (it’s all about the beans). These taste great with a light, to medium roast. Worshipping these beans makes my mornings happier.
