Works great
I put this in a basement apartment that I am building for my daughter. it runs out a 1" line, 1 foot horizontal, 90deg bend, then 9 feet vertical, 45deg and 45deg bend, then 20 feet horizontal (with 1/4" /ft slope) and into a wye that joins an existing 2" line and then into the soil stack. It is being fed by a 1/2" water line that is 8' off of a 3/4" line. Being used to standard toilets, it sounds like it runs for a long time, but it does it's job of getting everything out. It works better than the toilets upstairs. There is one round flush button, with 2 sides. I told my daughter that the little circle was for number one, and the big one for number two. Push either one and the macerator runs regardless, you just choose how much water to use. It's fairly quiet, maybe a little bit louder than a standard toilet, but definitely not obnoxious. Mounting was easier than i thought. I didn't put any holes in the wall until the unit arrived, just the electrical outlet. I left the water valve inside the wall and get to it through an access panel on the opposite side. When I got it set where I wanted it, I drew an outline on the wall and made a small hole for the water line and a larger one for the exhaust. you can't see either with it mounted. Just follow the included directions and be sure to mount the seat first. It arrived 'double packed', surrounded by plenty of foam, no damage at all. I'm 6'1" and a big guy, while it's a little smaller than a standard toilet, it's still comfortable. If you can use the toilet in a standard to large RV, you will be fine.

Great Product - Easy to Install
This item arrived one day earlier than originally estimated and came through intact and without damage. It was packaged very well to protect it from breakage during shipment. The installation was fairly straight forward, although I found the toilet seat installation a little difficult due to the instructions not being as clear and detailed as needed. I had downloaded and read the toilet installation instructions online well in advance of ordering the toilet so I could properly design my plumbing and prepare for the installation. I got very good technical support from Saniflo regarding questions I had about the toilet. The only negative is that the written instructions in the manual do not refer to the proper figures given in the manual, and Saniflo needs to rewrite the installation instructions for proper figure reference and details. The water supply line that was supplied with the toilet was not the best for my installation. However, it was usable but required me to make an extra joint in the water supply line. This presents an extra opportunity for water leaks. I think Saniflo should design and supply the toilet with a fill valve inlet adapter which would allow the direct connection of a US standard 3/8" compression connector flexible supply line that the user can purchase locally. That is, I would have rather had an adapter to which I could have directly connected my own flexible supply line of the proper length and rubber seals to avoid having any intermediate connections in the supply line.

Does the job!
We added this to a basement bathroom and it works great! The septic line is about 48-56" above our floor and this has no issues pumping up and out. We've run it for about a month now, giving it "the test" and it clears the bowl on one flush. Also, as the name says, it's compact! Not meaning the seat is small - I'm 6'1", 265lbs, and I find it comfortable. Compact in the sense that it takes up less space in the bathroom than conventional toilets because it doesn't have the water tank behind. We also plumbed in the sink to drain to this toilet, as they advertise, and that works great too! Highly recommend for a basement install application needing upflush capability!

Nice size macerating toilet, the seat design is odd, instructions very limited
I purchased this SANIFLO Sanicompact to add an extra toilet to our home. The instructions are poor, and confusing, but the toilet does flush and do the job.Positives:A convenient size macerating toilet. Not overly loud. A bit louder than a regular toilet, but not a huge roar like some institutional toilets.Prompt delivery. So far, it works well and does the job.Negatives:Write down the serial number BEFORE installation. THE SERIAL NUMBER IS HARD TO READ AND LOCATED INSIDE THE BACK OF THE TOILET on the pump. Impossible to see after the toilet is installed. On my unit, the printing on the label for the serial number is not clear, almost smudged right out of the box. The serial number is on a sticker wrapped around part of the pump, not a solid tag, and that makes seeing it hard, even before it is installed. No serial number on the box.The instructions DIFFER from the PDF instructions I downloaded off Saniflo's web page. They contradict each other at some points. That makes it confusing. For a DIY job, you might have lots of questions. Most of the instructions are just diagrams, and very limited written directions. For any verticle lift the drain must go upward immediately upon leaving the toilet. Also, the drain must gave a downward grade (like 1/4 inch per foot) for all horizontal runs. The instructions suggest using long sweep 90 degree corners, or two 45s to make any corners. I could not find those long sweep 90s anywhere locally. Plan on spending some extra money for parts if you have any turns or distance to the stack, and then the parts for cutting into the stack and whatnot. Maybe Saniflo could sell the parts like the long sweep corners, the valves, and all that? The installation is NOT as simple as advertised. In a perfect world, you would have plenty of room to install, but if you are putting this in a small spot, that makes it more of a challenge. For me, part of that trouble was the layout of where I needed the toilet. If your house has easy access to the main stack, and easy access to get a supply line to the place where you install the toilet, and plenty of room where you want to set the toilet, then it might be a simple job. But if that is the case, you will probably be able to install a standard toilet which costs about 1/4 of the macerating toilet. I hired a professional plumber and installation was a chore. to get the drains and supply line to the Saniflo. Saniflo's installation videos are more of an advertisement than an instructional video. For the price, Saniflo should have detailed tutorials which show common installations, especially a step-by-step process. The worst instructions are for the toilet seat. The diagrams are so tiny, you can barely see the small parts, and in my unit, the instructions were for a wall-mounted toilet, not the unit I ordered.Seat is adequately comfortable. I am not sure if a regular toilet seat would fit.The price is spendy, but overall, it seems to be quality.Warranty is limited and only for two years, with an additional two years if you register online. My grade, is a B+. The unit is a decent design, but the poorly written instructions and the seat take away some of the rating.

Very good, but could be perfect.
Like the design and simplicity. However, should come with standard North American plumping fitting instead of the odd fittings provided.

Works as advertised.
Works very well in my basement attached to vanity. Only issue I had was I would have preferred not to have to close the lid every time I flush especially with a slow close lid. Would recommend this for anyone not connected to a drain system. Surprisingly quiet considering.
