Q-Connect Cutting Mat Non-Slip PVC A1 Green

Such a great size for rotary cutting garment pieces, it has improved my cutting- no more jagged edges- and speeded up the whole process. You need a really big board for the best results, plus this was such an excellent price. Not sure I've used it enough to comment on durability, but it's looking very good so far and I've been using it quite a long time. It came in a plastic wrapper in a cardboard wrap and was nice and flat, not sure what presentation has to do with it, I just wanted the map! The cardboard is handy to keep it in, under the bed (store flat!)

I must be honest I have only had this board for a few days and have not actually used it yet as a backing for any cutting.I’m into RC and am always using my coffee table or dining table to strip down and meddle with my cars. This helps board deffinitely helps outs a lot and stops me ruining my tables.The details :So I ordered quite a big size (A1) as my biggest rc car is a 2wd Traxxas Slash (see my attached pictures). This gives you an idea of just how big the mat is. It has a nice ‘matt’ green colour - which I hope I don’t ruin too soon!The mat came completely flat and was not bent at all.Like I said I haven’t actually cut anything yet so I can’t really comment on that just yet, but I have a lexan shell I’m going to get stuck into soon so I will update again once I do.....but so far I’m very happy with this product and encourage folks to get either this or one of the smaller sizes.

I searched various outlets for an A1 sized cutting mat of this quality- and all that I found were more expensive than this one yet of a lesser quality. I was actually a little dubious when I ordered the Q Connect A1 cutting mat here for the price that it is; I was worried that I'd be supplied with an inferior product -but I received the real thing!The mat is THICK, almost half a centimetre thick. When looking at its edge, the individual layers can be seen. It's covered on both sides with a 1cm grid in light blue print, with a 1cm wide border left all round (and the Q Connect logo printed in light blue on the lower right hand corner). Unfortunately for those who prefer the imperial measuring system, the mat isn't calibrated in inches, in fact there are no numbers printed on the cm grid either but for me, that's fine. The mat also arrives flat -it's too thick to roll and folding it would likely leave a permanent indentation along the fold line.I gave the mat 4 stars rather than 5 because when I unpacked it, a small piece of the green layer had chipped off. The broken piece was pretty tiny, about the size of a fingernail clipping and funnily enough it’s a nail file that will probably be the best thing to "sand" down the edge to a smooth finish again! All in all, I'm really happy with this cutting mat -I have very limited space at home but now, I can extend my working area to the floor without a problem which is great :-)

To be fair, we haven't had a great deal of opportunity to go mad with our crafting knives on this baby, but so far, so good. It seems thick enough, tough enough, resilient enough. It's two sided with two different grid designs, so you can pick which one may be more helpful to a given project. You do need to keep the thing flat, and because it takes up a fair old area, that means under the bed or something like that.All in all, my early conclusion is that this does the job of many products twice the price.

I ordered two of these mats to use as a cutting surface for dressmaking. They arrived flat in a cardboard pack ( so quite a large parcel). They are good quality mats, with centimetre markings on one side and plain on the other. Either side can be used for cutting. One advantage to me is that these mats are quite heavy and, therefore, do not slip around on the table. I have already used them quite a lot and the "self-healing" aspect is good. I can see these lasting me a long time and I am very pleased with the quality and, most of all, the price, which I found surprisingly cheap.

This large cutting mat is very good value for money. I have been using it for cutting out patterns for dressmaking and it has been just what I need.It did arrive rolled up though, which I guess dies make it easier to transport but I then had to keep it in a flat open position for several days before I could use it without it trying to roll up.Due to its size, it can be difficult to store flat but it is well worth it if you can find the space so that it's ready to use whenever you need it.

Item arrived well within estimated date. I had been concerned about some feedback regarding minor damage in transit (not necessarily from this seller) whilst searching for this item, but in this case the mat was excellently protected by thick cardboard & the contents were perfect. The cutting mat is as described - about 4mm thick with square grids on both sides. I would have preferred different layouts on each side, but it is not a big issue. I have seen other boards which have a ribbed back which means they only have one useable side. Being reversible should hopefully even out the wear on this & help it last a bit longer.
