Great baby shower gift
The cutest book in exchange for a baby shower card. Love the sweet examples in the book on the different ways of spending time with daddy. The pictures are colorful and the board book is well made. You will love reading this to your child and one day soon they will read it to you!

Another good P K Hallinan book
Like all P K Hallinan books, this is another good book. I don't think it is quite as well written as the My Mommy and I book, but it is still a good book with a good story that takes you on a journey of a dad who clearly loves his kids. It is a great ready for my son and his daddy.

Good but also liked another book
My Daddy and I is a book that describes some of the things that a father and toddler son might do together.... and how they brighten each other's lives. I love how they all cry together staring at how beautiful the stars are, because my husband is emotional too especially about sunsets. Keep in mind this is a Christian book so it includes going to church and praying. I only wish it included things like going camping together or doing chores together like raking leaves, so the book did not paint that the relationship with dad was only about fun and games. Also, the book kinda pigeon holes the dad role and not every dad is going to fit that description. For example, not every dad paints pictures or tells fanciful stories... nor does everyone live near the beach and can go there with dad to collect shells.... so by being so specific on tasks to do with dad, the book kinda loses its relevance to some of the audience. Overall I am pleased with the book because it does fit my husband pretty well, we just don't live where it snows so he will not be making any snowmen.BTW, after reading both the daddy and mommy books, frankly the books paint dads as more fun and interesting to hang out with than moms. So if you want a matching set for mom and dad, I actually prefer "Thank You God for Daddy" and its mommy companion book by Amy Parker. There is not as many specific tasks listed, which means dads and moms are not so boxed in. Plus, the mommy book has equal weighting so neither the dad nor mom is elevated above the other as more fun/interesting.
