The never-before-available Live At The Meadowlands, recorded March 14, 1986, features 18 previously unreleased tracks. In this now-legendary hometown show, where Sinatra wooed a sold-out New Jersey crowd, Sinatra showcased songs from every phase of his stellar career, mixing the likes of "One For My Baby", "You Make Me Feel So Young" and "I’ve Got You Under My Skin" with late-period classics such as "L.A. Is My Lady" and "Theme From New York, New York." The long-anticipated release of Live At The Meadowlands holds special significance among Sinatra fans as it’s one of the most sought-after and hard-to-find concert recordings of his career. Hank Cattaneo, Sinatra’s long time production manager and confidante, wrote the set’s liner notes.

Sinatra Live in the 1980's
Here Frank commits to a live recording containing songs from his long career. It must have been wonderful to experience him live in concert as this C.D. testifies.Although older he certainly has a definite magic that few singers possess today. He opens with "Without a Song" which is just great and sets the tenor of the evenings performance for those lucky enough to be there. He engages the audience with masterful performances and does not disappoint. At times nostalgic then modern in his approach - I guess style never goes out of fashion.

Sinatra at the Meadowlands.
This is a lovely CD and Sinatra is at his best in front of a live audience.I just wish that there was a DVD of it.

Great music
As always the Governor sounds great, anything Frank does I love, he is my favourite singer, sadly no longer with us. I recommend this to any Sinatra fans.

Style wins over content
I was looking for a live version of "Mack the Knife" so was rather disappointed that he talked through this final track and made his thanks to the band. The curse of the live album I suppose. If you want to appreciate "The Voice" you will want a much earlier album but if you want the style, this album has it is spades.

Sinatra's twilight years
This is definitely at the tail end of Sinatra's long and successful career and to make any criticism seems tantamount to sacrilege, but I guess towards the end you went to a Sinatra concert just to be in his presence and you could forgive the occasional falter or slight lack of power. However having spent a life time listening to him at his best, you now notice the difference on this CD. I must admit, I prefer him in his prime to this late live version.

Toll !

Me encanta

Note to self: don't buy concert albums in general, ~ buy the 'younger' Frank as well.
Note to self: buy the younger Frank's cd's...He cuts off notes he used to effortlessly hold and the smooth, creamy voice sounds, as it should, a bit the worse for wear...I purchased this for one song by him that I could find nowhere else and am happy to have it. I also don't usually buy a concert format as I don't care for the extra chat for the audience and applause, etc. There was only One Voice like his though and one can't blame him for using it as long as, even past, possible. I saw him at 75 and it was just sad... At his best, no one will Ever top him. He will Always be the Ultimate interpreter of lyrics, and I liked how he often gave credit to the song's creators which almost no one else did/does. Always my favorite singer ~

100% Sinatra
I used to have this concert on cd before it was released commercially, an authorized bootleg from one of his fan clubs. This re-mastered cd is much better sound quality than that was and includes a few more songs as well I believe than the bootleg version had. Overall, excellent concert with Frank in great voice. I can't believe all the new stuff that comes out each year for Sinatra. Maybe it will be the same for say Michael Jackson as well. I hope to live to 70 let alone do what this man did at that age. I thank the family for releasing this and hope they continue to do the same in the future. A must for all Sinatra fans.Peter J. Miller

I Will Always Try Amazon First!
There was one song by Frank Sinatra that I had always loved and was unable to find it anywhere until I searched Amazon. "Live AT the Meadowlands (with Bonus CD) had "Let Me Try Again" on the Bonus CD so I ordered it and hoped the condition would be okay. I was really surprised to find that the CD was almost new and probably never really played, and that there were even songs by Frank that I hadn't heard before either. A great find - Thanks Amazon! I know where to look first when something I need is hard to find.

Sinatra in Concert - Nothing Like It!
This is truly an amazing Sinatra concert, complete with the Sinatra opening overture. Many unique arrangements/songs not often heard in concert ("Change Partners," "LA is My Lady," etc.) perfectly interpreted by Mr. Sinatra and backed by a powerful full orchestra. This is "The Grand Master" doing what he does best: Sining and interpreting America's best music live with a truly enthusiastic crowd.Get this CD!

Nice n Easy
In probably his last live concert on cd, a lot of the standards, but also some songs not often heard live such as Change Partners, Nice n Easy, Where or When, and sounding pretty strong for 71, at the time. Some occasional banter with the crowd. Overall, a very good performance but they were never long enough!

Sinatra in twilight
Although a Sinatra aficianado would not consider this CD the definitive concert recording due to Sinatra's age and the anticipated deterioration of his vocal range and abilities, it can still be appreciated as a wonderful reflection of Sinatra's unique phrasing, showmanship and impeccable taste in his selection of American Popular Standards, premier composers and top of the line arrangers such as Nelson Riddle, Billy May, Quincy Jones and Gordon Jenkins. All in all, a marvelous undiscovered treasure. [email protected]
