Fiat Ruins Everything: How Our Financial System is Rigged and How Bitcoin Fixes It

Fiat (money that has no backing like gold) is used by every country in the world. Jimmy Song does a great job of helping the reader to understand what that mean and how that affects countries monetary policies. But that's only the start. With 31 chapters and over 300 pages this book covers MANY aspects of how Jimmy believes Fiat is affecting our lives. A few of the 31 areas covered include savings and investing, work, relationships, even art.Jimmy has been involved in Bitcoin since 2011 and his deep knowledge and experience are obvious. Even so, he has a writing style that is very accessible and he does a great job of breaking down complex topics into something easily understood. This book is worth the time it takes to read.

Not quite finished yet but would recommend this to everyone

Jimmy's singing to the choir here, but why not. His earlier books had specific demographics (coders, Christians) and this one squarely targets Bitcoiners, to bolster their commitment and clarify their perspective of the pervasive evils of fiat.If I were to nitpick, some of the 'top ten' lists at the end of chapters seem to contain some logical stretches and probably don't really had much to the book. He leaps to some conclusions and doesn't necessarily always back up strong statements as well as he could, but I happen to agree with 99.8% of what he has to say - and he's capable of articulating it far better than I would be. Recommended for Bitcoiners.

I only bought this book because I like Jimmy Songs interviews on YouTube. However, his book disappointed me.Partly because I don’t share some of his opinions at all. Example: I don’t think toxic maximalism is something good. Toxic people are toxic.And partly because his arguments are often too biased and idealistic in my opinion. Metaphorically speaking: When you’re a hammer, you tend to only see nails.

Jimmy has done a good job on expressing his views in a clear manner that will make the most oblivious person understand how our financial system is corrupt.

Song provides a framework about the world is quite illuminating. His views on real estate were exceptionally original. This is just one example

This is my epiphany, the best book I ever read about Bitcoin. Thanks Jimmy, you won’t realise the impact that you made on me through this book, but my legacy will one day tell.
