The President Takes on Wall Street and the Miltary
Whatever Stephen Frey writes is guaranteed to hold your attention, teach you about the financial world and the military while making you think. That formula works in this novel as A.J. Falcon, a Wall Street prodigy, discovers that his company may not be just the most powerful firm, but also involved in political intrigue. Meanwhile the President of the United States is making enemies of important, powerful groups - Falcon’s own money men and the US military, with plans to tax the one and slash the other. All of this happens in an environment of racial divide being orchestrated by power mongers determined to pit groups against each other. Sounds like a lot to put into one story, but Frey ties it all together in great novel.

And we go forth
Good read until the end which seemed rushed and disjointed. Why would a special pops guy take a untrained financier to save the President? Not a shot fired on re-taking the WhiteHouse. What about the 10% of the military that sided with the general? Other than exploring some of these items the story just wrapped up. Why did the President survive a coup and torture? Other than the letdown at the end. Great premise

a good story which brings me back for more
Very enjoyable read, but as I was not able to finish the story in one sitting, I found some parts a bit complicated to keep up with the personalities involved. Maybe I'm getting too old? Anyway, a good story which brings me back for more.

Suspenseful, but not believable!
I’ve read most of Stephen Frey’s books, so I purchased this one. The various plots were just too simplistic to be taken seriously. Even so it does keep your attention if you are able to overlook that. I always read books to the end, but would advise picking one of his others over this one.

OK read
This was OK but nowhere near as good as his early writings.

Not bad but not his best work
Interesting plot and twists and turns. Some of the action is too unrealistic to not stop and think this just is not realistic. Wall Street bankers simply do not perform assaults with highly trained military units.

Wow, what if...
Many facets could be true but not all. But what if they were?

Interesting story line. However, it seemed a little shallow
Pretty average book. I probably won't read any more books by this author. It just seemed like a waste of time after I finished reading it.

If you've read other books by this author ,and enjoyed them, Ultimate Power will be reassuringly predictable from the outset.I have read the preceding nine books and found them all interesting in different ways and this book is no exception.

Thriller with a difference
Whilst I have enjoyed my first ever Stephen Frey book. In the beginning I found it quite hard to follow. It took me a few chapters to understand the story. Perhaps that is the beauty of an actual book rather than a digital one. One can flick back and forward if you don't remember who is who. Ultimately a good book.
