Start a survival fire under the most extreme conditions * This fire starter uses a specially formulated ferrocerium rod that produces a hotter wider spark. * The sparking rod is 1/4" diameter for long life. * The rod is long enough (about 2 1/2") to produce a good shower of very hot sparks. The temperature of the sparks has been measured up to 5500 deg F. * The Magnesium rod is 3/8" diameter and also about 2 1/2" long for long life. The sparking and magnesium rods are cemented together and inserted into a beautiful antler handle, and then secured with PC-7 epoxy* The scraper knife is handmade of high quality carbon steel knife stock secured in an Antler handle also with PC-7 epoxy.
