SynopsisThe third season of Outlander picks up right after Claire travels through the stones to return to her life in 1948. Now pregnant, she struggles with the fallout of her sudden reappearance and its effect on her marriage to her first husband, Frank. Meanwhile, in the 18th century, Jamie suffers from the aftermath of his doomed last stand at the historic battle of Culloden, as well as the loss of Claire. As the years pass, Jamie and Claire attempt to make a life apart from one another, each haunted by the memory of their lost love. The budding possibility that Claire can return to Jamie in the past breathes new hope into Claire's heart as well as new doubt. Separated by continents and centuries, Claire and Jamie must find their way back to each other. As always, adversity, mystery and adventure await them on the path to reunion. And the question remains: when they find each other, will they be the same people who parted at the standing stones, all those years ago?SPECIAL FEATURESThe Transformation of Geillis Duncan featuretteA Travelling Show Takes Sail featuretteGag ReelDeleted & Extended Scenes With Introductions by Ronald D. Superb series
I loved the books, especially the earlier ones, and the series is excellent, and series 3 is no exception. The casting and acting is superb. I think this is one of the very best series I have ever watched. I have introduced many friends to Outlander, and they have all become addicted. I also note that the poor 1 star reviews are all complaining, not about the series, but about the fact that they have paid and yet must still wait a week for each episode - I can see how frustrating that must be. I am watching the series for 'free' on Prime, and waiting on each episode - at least this stops me from 'binge watching' the whole thing in one sitting! Enjoy!

INCREASINGLY PREPOSTEROUS, BUT ENJOYABLY SO
Despite their attempts to alter history, Culloden was not avoided. The new season begins with horrendous scenes of carnage, Jamie himself seriously wounded. Pregnant Claire is back in her own time of two hundred years later - but now in Boston, America, where husband Frank is a university professor.Twenty years pass until Jamie and Claire are together again - cue for much pulsating passion and adventures that may seem a bit much even for most ardent fans. (Critics claiming absurdities certainly have a point, especially on Disc 5. Others will simply shrug off the ludicrous excesses, regarding them as part of the fun.)Yes, there is fun - despite that truly grim start and further horrors experienced en route. As ever, the show is visually stunning (more so in the past than in the present). Helping everything to work are the charismatic leads, Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan - their chemistry so evident. Spare a thought for Tobias Menzies as Frank, aware his wife Claire loves somebody else far more. Many other characters make impact, viewers no doubt to have their favourites. (Mine? Chinaman Mr Willoughby, increasingly full of surprises.)Thirteen episodes of varying length, one of them seventy five minutes. Commentaries (here called podcasts). Interesting other bonus features, including the farewell to a major member of the cast. For maximum enjoyment, best to ignore those whopping coincidences (they presumably all in the books on which the series is based). Instead just sit back and wallow in this over the top love story that knows no boundaries.

Sam Heughan is a fantastic actor, particularly in this episode when they meet again after 20 years. The eyes movements, facial expression, body movements. Wonderful show - watched this episode again and again! Can't wait to the next one!!

Brilliant.Watch out, very addictive.
I first watched Outlander on Amazon. I loved the first season so much that I couldn't wait to see if there was going to be another season, so I started reading the Outlander books. I was addicted. I hadn't enjoyed a story for many years, it captivated me. Usually once reading the book it doesn't seem as good on screen, but not so with this wonderful story. The costumes are vibrant, I love the way factual history has been woven into a fictional love story. For me it ticks every box. I have loved all three seasons. My only complaint is when I reach the last episode and wonder when the next season will be.? So when will season four come out? I await with baited breath.

All the one stars come from people annoyed at Amazon not Outlander!
All the one stars come from people annoyed at Amazon, not Outlander. Some people who don't have prime paid for the whole season upfront and were pissed when they realised new episodes are released weekly and not in one data dump.Anyway, this show is so incredibly moving that it has me tearing up often. It is so refreshingly uncynical and sweet. The male protagonist, Jamie, is so earnest and sweet and principled. In fact, many of the characters are. And It is so life-affirming to watch a show where the people are good, and act without disgusting ulterior motives - Although there are "bad guys" too. Please watch this. It's brilliant. Except for the 'older' Claire's TERRIBLE LACE FRONT WIG. It is distractingly bad.

Outlander Season 3
Excellent series however did think the reunion should have been one act earlier as finall telling of the tale seemed rushed and not quite as Book to curtail into allotted time scales of one hour.Jamie and Claire perfectly cast as are all the rest of the new members introduced , particularly Lord John wonderful acting so glad he won’t be lost in further Seasons also the older Fergus . Roll on Season 4
