Probably the best rice cooker out there. Very efficient
Excellent unit. We have one of them at ours and at our mother in laws home. Cooks all types of rice with no burning or undercooking

I Love this and use it daily.
So why don't i give it 5 stars. Well, it's the user manual. it doesn't really explain anything. In this day of the internet, set up a forum with an english page and let the users talk with each other. or a good in korean and let me do a translation on that page. I will have to write down and experiment just to figure out how to turn it on "High" and cook for x minutes. But i am cooking beans and rice (separately) almost every day. I caramelized onions and steam broccoli and potatoes.Cuckoo please learn about youtube and forget the paper manual.

Stopped working within a few months
At first (about 3 months after purchasing) we would get an error when trying to use the "keep warm" function, where the device thinks the lid is unlocked when it is not. Locking and unlocking does not fix it. Then, about 7-8 months after purchasing, we cannot even start cooking rice. We get an "ECO" error (probably same error as before but don't recall), and the display shows an unlock symbol. My engineering judgement is that there is probably a corroded wire or sensor somewhere inside the lid, since at first we would only get the error when everything was steamy and wet (right after cooking).I contacted the cuckoo customer service online today. I'll update this review and let you guys know what happens. Their website is not very clear, but I'm afraid we will have to ship it to New York and pay our own shipping.UPDATE 6/28/2015:We ended up having to ship it to LA on our own dime. Since it was still within one year of purchased, the repair itself was covered. I believe they said it was the"control unit" that needed to be replaced. Be warned that the guy you will have to call for warranty service hardly speaks any English. They also did not seem very organized over there. I called them a few weeks after sending it, and they couldn't locate my package. They later found it and accused me of not including a packing slip with my address (which I did include). All told, they fixed it and shipped it back. Seems to be working fine now...

Not what I expected
I really thought it would be better than my old one but it's not. After 24hours, the rice goes bad and smells terrible. Very disappointed.

For the price, this will be one of the best.
One of the best rice cookers for the money. This can be used as simple as you want it, but if you want the various type of rice cooking options, it also has those. For the price, this rice cooker is going to be one of the best product.I have used many different rice cookers in the past, but rice will not taste good until you've cooked your rice in one of these. In Korea, this was hit product from Cuckoo through its rice cooker lines.I don't think you need to spend much more for the more expensive ones (unless it is the size you need) and the rice cooking for at home, this is a great one.I spend many years looking for a good one, and finally gave into buying a premium rice cooker.

Cuckoo has done it again!
Simply the best rice cooker in the world. I have used its predecessor since 2005 and it was time for an upgrade. Too bad this machine can't turn lead into gold. :D

no reply from Cuckoo after a year about a minor problem and died less than 2 years after purchase
Unfortunately Cuckoo never responded to me when the display panel started showing problems, a year after purchase. Now, less than a year later, the cooker won't turn on at all. I suppose I am completely out of luck with a $400 rice cooker. While it worked, ir worked great.
