The most useful writing guidebook
The Write Habit is a helpful writing toolkit for researchers to develop writing flow, minimum viable options and writing habits. Imagine your future self is also a valuable tool to help writers focus on current writing projects. I found it useful to prioritise my writing commitment and learn to say no to irrelevant invitations toward my writing goals. If you find writing is challenging, I will recommend this book to you.

Wonderful help for academic writing!
As an Independent Researcher it can be hard to manage my time for writing, along with my daily work. When you are in PhD mode you are often meeting deadlines, either your own, your supervisor, your funding body, or your uni. Afterwards I only had my own deadlines and it was a struggle to keep to them. I needed something that would help me get these articles and book out of my head and onto the page. However, it is one thing to be ‘told’ how to manage your writing schedule but another to be ‘shown’ how to do so. Showing me how to do it is what Dr Janz has done.I liked that it was easy to go back to if you ‘fall off the wagon’ and get back to prioritising. I especially liked that the planning template helps to keep me on track and not feel overwhelmed by the amount of writing needing to be done. Not only does the journal help make it manageable, it also makes it ‘feel’ manageable.Although I offered to review an advance copy I liked it so much I purchased the journal for my mum, who is in her writing up year for her PhD. My daughter is interested in it for her short stories collection and upcoming novel (hoping to complete by this time next year) and I am going to keep using it to help me stay on track with my research, writing, and publications. Great support for boosting writing productivity
This book is helping me so much at the moment. As an academic with a full time job and attempting to finish their PhD, I am constantly battling for time to write. This book is so clear and direct. It gets right to the point. It is written with great compassion and understanding for the challenges in writing and the writing process. My early impressions are that this book is going to prove invaluable as I approach the end of my PhD and move on to the next projects. My only suggestion would be if people will be using the pages in the planner in the published book, wire bound spine would help but this is very minor.

Great academic planner
I am an academic and PhD student. I struggle to find enough time to write with family and professional commitments and this planner is helping me to manage my deadlines and plan writing in to my routine.The Write Habit breaks both planning and writing in to manageable steps and for me this is really helpful - getting started is always my biggest hurdle. The exercises and templates are simple but effective.I received an advanced copy of the planner but have also purchased a hard copy as it will be something I use on a daily basis. I highly recommend this planner for any writer, student or academic who struggles to find time for writing.

Finally write that book!
I have had a book inside me waiting to come out for a long time. I am a creative but suck at planning at the logistics that come with writing a great book. I thought it would be so simple and just sit down and write...but no the mind doesn't work like that and we need structure too as this helps the book come out. If you want to write a book then get this planner and use it to make your writing dreams come true.

A writing planner for every writer
This planner is a life line for any writer whether you are working on a book, dissertation, article or just want more writing in your life. As a regular person with a regular schedule I really needed something that helped me with time management but also with re-envisioning my project and even thinking of myself as a writer. The planner is much more than management tool although it is fantastic in that regard. The planner helps you think about yourself, your vision of your life, and through this, anchors you in your own internal commitment to your project. A really effective tool
Dr Janz's The Write Habit has greatly helped me take better control of my plans and tasks. Its weekly and monthly review pages have improved my organizational skills and taught me how to find time for writing. I do recommend it, especially if one needs to manage a daily job and other commitments alongside their creative projects.

Six months later, I still love my improved ‘Write Habit’!
I purchased Dr Janz’ book in December 2023 and have been using it weekly since that time. I had her earlier pdf workbook so knew it was probably going to be a good choice for easily-distracted, procrastinating writer me. I was right. While initially I used it on my own, later I was in a workshop and ended up with an ‘accountability partner,’ another writer, going forward. What I discovered was how easily I am able to put together my “Weekly Overview” (a single form to fill in) with my top three writing priorities, do some breaking down and additional notes, etc, and then come up with my ‘habit focus’ and (a biggie for me) ‘What I’m taking OFF my plate…!’ for the coming week. Sometimes I share a screen grab of the page with my writing buddy rather than rewriting it all. At the end of the week, there’s a handy ‘Reflection’ section for wins and learning points from the week AND, to support the week’s plan, a second simple “Writing Slots” page lets me forecast—and track—how much of my time I plan (and deliver on) to actually spend writing. This really works for me and I’ll continue with it, and Dr Janz’ many other resources offered, going forward. I could’ve be more pleased with the ease AND result!

Great for writers wanting momentum!
I love the Write Habit Planner! I really do well when I get down to outlining my days, weeks, month etc and it seems to always lead to success. Highly recommended! Have fun with it too!
