Shon Hopwood...Amazing!
Shon Hopwood is an amazing guy who has done amazing things with his life. He is HOPE for so many who have served time, and their families. Hee is or can be a catalyst to those in our society who only see things through a very small window. He opens up the minds of those who have closed minds and comforts those who's loved ones have served or are serving time in a correctional institution. He is honest, modest, kind and thoughtful throughout his book. The book is well written and has some snippets of humor sprinkled throughout that are heartwarming. I am going to share my book with others as it is a must read for our closed minded society.

Inspiring. Cautionary. Challenging.
Hopwood’s memoir does a remarkable job of giving insight into his criminal past without excusing it; acknowledging the perversion of our correctional system without denying society’s right to justice and safety; and glorying in unearned grace while illustrating the complementary requirements of tenacity and grit. And it was a terrifically fascinating read!

Compelling!
Shon is a true comeback kid, and this story is one of redemption, compassion, and true love. It was hard to put down, and I recommend it to anyone that needs a little inspiration or a feel good read. FIVE STARS!

Could not put this book down!
LAWMAN is a compelling true story of a prisoner whose intellectual curiosity drove him to educate himself, use his prison time productively, and build a future for himself. It is very well written, conversational, clips along at a pace that draws you in. The last 15% of the book does not examine as well the challenges after he was released, became a full time student, husband and father. I wanted to know more! -- which is the mark of a great book.

Transformatiin of a convict
An extraordinary, true story of a young man who made some bad decisions before discovering he could also make good ones. Hopwood gived credit to familial love, unconditional love & forgiveness in his remarkable life from directionless adolescent to bank robber to writing briefs for the highest court of the land and finally teaching at Georgetown University. A memorable read.

Incredible
This is one of the books that you just don’t want to put down until you’re done reading it. It gave me insight into the world of prison, the world I know so little about, thankfully. It also showed how old I really could straighten up after starting out wrong in life.

A must read
You’ll come away feeling hopeful about humanity. It will leave you with an additional lens to look through about the often forgotten and discarded members of our society.

Inspiring
Its an amazing book. I first knew his story from 60 Minutes but did not know he had written a book. Later I was searching and hoping he had written a book then found this.It is a story for not just people who had had not so good past and looking for redemption but also people who are stuck in their jobs who hate it but continue to drag themselves to work everyday thinking the pay makes it worth it. NO IT DOESNOT.If you are doing what you love, everything just falls into its place.Great read highly recommended
