PHANTASM - ORIGINAL MOTION PICTURE SOUNDTRACK [VINYL]

First saw this movie back in 1981 and still a personal favourite to this day.To own this soundtrack on vinyl is a absolute joy.Totally love it.Great sound quality also.

Purchased vinyl. Superb score for a terrific movie. Great sound and quality. A must buy.

The media could not be loaded.  Phantasm has long been the underdog of 1970s horror and has kept up it's appeal for almost 40 years across a series of five movies. A little more subversive and mysterious than simple slasher flicks it has many fine qualities and famous moments, but the score probably the most appealing, being funkier and more experimental than much of the competition at the time, such as Halloween or The Exorcist.Fred Myrow and Malcolm Seagrave not only created a cool little theme but infused much of the score with an enjoyable Disco feel that never really feels cheesy and is always fun to listen to. This album presents an arranged edit of the score, which works in its favor. I don't think a complete, chronological, and comprehensive album of the Phantasm score would be an enjoyable experience. It's not often that I take that stance, but I stand by it here.The vinyl is presented in a lovely gatefold with awesome artwork. A colored vinyl is out there, but, sadly, I couldn't find it.
