Pretty good mix
This chocolate flavored workout supplement is not as bad as I thought it would be. I've had a few different brands and flavors before, and they all vary wildly in terms of taste and consistency. This one falls somewhere in the middle, because it tastes good - even though it has that weird aftertaste like they all do - but it also mixes mostly well. Getting the powder to completely dissolve into water is not easy, and I imagine it was tested with hot water before being packaged and sold to the consumers. Still, it's a decent option, but I can't say whether or not it has worked for me. I haven't felt any "energy" gains from this mix, so your mileage will vary.

Great recovery
Can’t recommend freak shake enough. I drink it after long cardio sessions and it’s really improved my performance. The chocolate flavor is better than the mocha (but anything is better than endurox which tastes like chalk to me).

sugar though... taste good but again the sugar content...
I'm undecided about this product. It tastes good, but I'm concerned about the sugar content. While it does provide a boost of energy, I appreciate the added electrolytes for hydration. However, the high sugar content raises concerns, but does glucose aids in the absorption of electrolytes. Also it doesn't fully mix well not a big issue but want a smoother blend for a powder.

I’ve tried it both as a pre-workout and a post workout supplement with pretty good results…
I am someone who works out regularly and takes various supplements to assist with my overall health and well-being.I always use a pre-workout before my weightlifting sessions and then rely heavily upon a good protein shake afterwards to assist with my recovery and growth. So when I came across this product, I was intrigued.I’ve used products from this brand before with very good results. The fact that this was billed as a pre-workout as well as a post workout with a good amount of protein was something that really was attractive to me so I went ahead and placed an order for it. I just finished taking the last of it and overall I’m pretty pleased with it.As far as the taste, it is a bit too sweet for my liking. It’s not horrible, but I actually ended up using more almond milk than normal to try to balance the flavor out.I tried it as a pre-workout but it really didn’t do much for me at all, so I found it to be better as a post workout supplement.I still added a scoop of protein to it, because while it does have a good amount of protein, it’s not enough to follow up my workout with.I also feel that it may be assisting in keeping my muscles more full after my workout instead of losing the pump altogether. So for me, I overall can recommend this product. Are there others that may work better as a pre-or post workout supplement? I’m sure there are. And is the price point a bit high? Yeah, a little bit.But since it has the duality that it does, you may be able to justify the price. If find that I can.I hope my review helps you to make a more well informed decision.

Crazy nutrition
Abount 200 calories for a single packet, with close to 30 grams of sugar, and only 12 grams of protein?! No thanks. Pre/post workout, whatever. Minimal caffeine. Only thing this does is make me sluggish. Nope. And that pricepoint. Get out.

What is this? Is it pre-workout or post-workout?
This is an unusual workout product - it claims to be a bonk buster, and a pre-workout, during workout, or post-workout drink, with electrolytes, carbohydrates, protein, and (a very modest amount of) caffeine, all in one.I decided to use this instead of my protein powder as a recovery drink, since it has 11.5 g of protein per serving (about half of what I'd normally aim for in recovery, but it's ok).The flavor was great, and I very happily used these instead of my regular whey powder in my post-run shakes (cold brew coffee, banana, frozen pineapple, oat milk, and this "Freak Shake"). You can taste the himalayan sea salt, which at first was weird, but I got used to it after the the first couple. Why I won't be using this as a pre-workout or fueling during a long run: It mixes up very thick, and I already have my pre-run calories carefully curated as to avoid stomach problems. I know "people" recommend high amounts of protein in the morning to curb appetite throughout the day. I also know "my stomach" enjoys my morning run the best when I eat oatmeal for breakfast. I don't need extra pre-run calories. What I can consume mid-long run is even more limited than breakfast options for me - I gag on anything gel based, so I stick to easy to absorb sugary electrolyte drinks, and this is probably not going to bust any of my bonks (which usually happen when I bring sugar free electrolytes on my long runs on accident).Anyway, I liked this, it's kind of weird, but was fun to use. The 35 mg caffeine does absolutely zero for me though, so I supplemented with caffeine from other sources.

Bonk buster! Good flavor, mixes well
The Freak Shake was a great addition our supplements for recovery. High carb and electrolytes make for a great post run recovery. The shakes come in individual packets for easy measuring. They mix well in water or in milk and in a shaker cup with a ball or in a blender. If mixed in a shaker with no ball it tended to clump a little. Chocolate flavor was good.
