THIS ITEM HAS NOTHING WRONG WITH IT! The 'unrecognizable Food' are large dried up carrots. Therefore, to the merchant (Essential Shop), my apologies, & my NEGATIVES in the message yesterday are RETRACTED! SORRY! "Usually-->(ALWAYS) this item is perfect for our rabbit, we have ordered it 6 times, but NOT this time--> (YES, THIS TIME TOO!). This time we opened the bag & found pieces "Food" that was unrecognizable-->(LARGE DRIED UP CARROTS = RECOGNIZED & OK). We've ordered from this merchant before & NEVER had any issues: the product was always as described (NO UNKOWN PARTICULATE MATTER?)-->(NOW KNOWN), item was delivered in timely fashion, our rabbit loves it, & the product has had great reviews. I've tried to contact the merchant (Essential Shop) directly, but there is no way to locate their contact information. Our rabbit is fragile, & to feed it this product with UNRECOGNIZABLE--> (NOW RECOGNIZABLE) "FOOD" may cause--> (WILL NOT CAUSE) irrepritable harm to him."---> To the public that may have read yesterday's 8/20/22 message, once again THE PRODUCT is perfectly fine & HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! And to the merchant, MY APOLOGIES!

My cockatiel has enjoyed this brand of food for many years. He eats it without any hesitation and that's what's important to me. After trying some of the more higher priced bird foods, which, in some cases, my bird refused to eat, I've returned to this old standby. No reason to spend money on the higher priced brands, if your bird refuses to eat them. Yes, I've heard all about how seed diets aren't right, and that pellets, or crumbles are better, but my bird has lived in this food for seventeen years. He likes it, and that is that. Have always been pleased with Hartz products. Always have been a good value bird food.

I can tell you that there is a nice mix of seeds and kibbles and the price is great for the amount we get. I can't say anything about the flavor, cause I didn't eat any. The hamster, however, dove right in and chowed down. He's still alive, so that says something about quality, too, I guess. I also included a picture of the hamster, cause he's so cute! I'd order this food again anytime I need it.

My cockatiel is a darn picky eater. If there's food he doesn't like/want, but he's hungry, he'll just whistle and yell till you replace it with something he wants. That can actually be a pain in the butt if "his brand" is out at the store and I have to get something else. Pleased to say he seems to like this brand well enough, and with the handy Amazon, I can have bags of it dropped at my door with little notice. Going to the pet store may be a thing of the past. I think my bird may very well be the only cockatiel ever that completely refuses to eat any fresh fruit/veggie. So thank goodness for seeds that he will eat.

We nicknamed this crack for guinea pigs, whatever they put in it they love it. However after many years they changed the formula. There is one very thick piece he throws out of his cage. I mix this with oxbow, which is a more healthy food. He currently has leg cancer and doesn't have very long to live, so he will have everything he loves until the end. Here is Sammie with his friend, Gracie. They have been together from the first day I brought him home.

My guinea pig likes this brand more than the last one I bought. It cost more and I get less than the other brand though.

Hard to find in stores. It is the only food our sweet 6 year old guinea pig will eat.

Very disappointed in Hartz Bonanza Cocktail Gourmet Diet, this is my experience with this brand. It's dusty and looks more like Parakeet food. I have to shop for it on Amazon, as all the stores in my area no longer carry Hartz Gourmet Diet bird food. When, I could purchase this in our store it had more seeds and, not like small bird food. You do have to go through the food to find some good because most of it is fillers and very small seeds.This last bag I received. I should demand a refund, it looks like it's all parakeet food no big seeds at all just small seeds, very small. Did I mention it's very dusty also? Update: this is not as picture it isn't the gourmet kind at all. Update: Amazon did send me another bag, same thing no good this product is misleading it's and I repeat not the original Hartz Bonanza 4-Pound Gourmet Diet Supply, Cockatiel/Small Hookbill. It's all dust and very small seeds.To be honest it should be pulled and, not sold as cockatiel food, but parakeet food.Update: This food improved for a while now it's back to more of a parakeet food, plus dust. I end up throwing more away than using. It's the only food my bird will touch wish I could find in my local stores again.

This is a great quality fresh and well liked by my birds prefer it over other brands.
