Homesteaders dream machine
Worked very well for plucking chickens fast and easy. Sometimes feathers would get clogged but besides that beyond my expectations what it could do very durable. All farmers /homesteaders like us should own one. Very easy to clean. Worth every penny.

Some good, some bad
First the bad. When I received plucker and assembled it , it would not even turn on. Was going to just return it but decided to check for the problem. On/off switch is junk. Cheaply made and had multiple broken wore connections. Installed my own switch and it worked. Also replaced GFCI plug because it trips constantly. Now on to plucking birds. I've done chickens and ducks so far. When plucking birds, remove wing and tail feathers or they will jam machine. Also use as much water as you can get into drum or it will jam. Next, clean up is a pain. Feathers will wrap around base of plucking fingers and they are a pain to remove. Now for the good. It will plucking a chicken in about 30 seconds. A duck takes 2 to 3 minutes. It gets about 99% of chicken feathers off and about 90% on a duck. Not exactly what I expected but I have made it work with some modifications.

Works great, but clogs easily
We processed 52 meat birds and this plucker really made the chore easier. A properly scalded chicked would be plucked clean with about 30 ish seconds.I'd give it 5 stars if the machine didn't jam up after 5 or 6 chickens. Popping the drum off and clearing the wet feathers under the disk was annoying, but at least we weren't hand plucking all the birds.Overall, I'm happy with the machine and would recommend it.

good price
Does the job well but you have to pull off wing feathers and clean it out during the process. The feathers amass around the edges of the bottom plate and stop the plate from turning. This may be true of all these products. I love it.

Do not buy!
This item was a piece of junk. Mind you all described happened on the first use... From locking up from overload of feathers aprox every other bird (yes we had plenty of water used) and having to separate drum from base to unclog. The constant separation of the two halves caused two clips to break. Those two broken clips caused machine to blow apart while in use. That required someone to physically hold weight on machine to keep it together (dangerous). We finally had to hand pluck the last 4 of the 30 birds we processed because this machine is junk. Will be returning...

There is a trick to this!
I read the reviews and I saw how most people would have trouble with the feathers clogging up the process. I did it as well and though there is a better way. The solution!!After you scald the chicken, by hand grab and pull out the largest feathers, Tail and wing. A quick pull on just those few bunches before you toss the whole bird in is the game changer. The plucker has no issues with the smaller feathers. The little fingers under the spinner do a good job pushing those in. Its the large feathers that always get stuck. After 4 birds I said there has to be a better way. By removing the large feathers quickly by hand it solved the problem. The smaller feathers are the ones that give me the most time anyways and this plucker does a great job. We toss in one bird at a time and within 20 seconds or less its clean. Saves a whole lot of time.My friend and I processed 20 birds in 3 hours.. From culling to cutting and putting them in the chiller. You can pay a little more for other brands that look exactly the same but trust me they are all the same machine. Unless you go larger.Overall Im super happy.Again remove the large feathers quick and then toss in the bird with a lot of water pushing it all down the drain tube.We also put a bucket on the bottom with draining holes and it was perfect.

makes plucking fast and easy
processed 12 cornish x last year by hand took so long and was such a chore for my wife and i that we only did six at a time so it took us two days. We decided we needed to purchaser a plucker if we were going to continue processing our own birds and after shopping around for a year the vevor was on sale for under $300 and i jumped on it. After reading reviews and watching videos on youtube of the vevor and other similar designed pluckers i felt I understood the design weaknesses and and could prevent or repair the issues this economy plucker has.I have processed 26 birds with this plucker so far with absolutely no issues but i am very carefull of keeping the electrical plug high and dry, I use the included clean out hose connected to the feather clean out port with a milk crate underneath to collect feathers but allowing water to pass through, this keeps water and feathers from getting on or in the motor witch could be a potential issue . I am also careful not to spray water on the power/on off buttons This is not a commercial grade machine, but I only process 2-3 dozen chickens a year and i think this plucker will last a long time if the motor and electrical components are kept dry, you only pluck 1 or 2 chickens at a time and don't continually run the motor turn it on throw in a chicken let it do its thang then turn it off. With all that said this plucker is a real game changer for me it makes the whole process of butchering chickens so much easier and faster i was truly shocked at how clean the birds come out and how fast it does it. the only real complaint i have is that it is kinda hard to clean because feathers get wrapped arounf the base of all the rubber fingers and you have to pull stuck feathers out of every finger. If you are like me and only raise 2 or 3 dozen broilers a year and understand the limitations of an economy plucker I would recommend the vevor plucker

Gets jammed constantly
We bought this to process 60 chickens - the first few went like a dream, but after about 8 chickens, it started constantly jamming up. We had to do only one chicken at a time, careful to rinse enough to wash feathers through, but not so much as to short out the switch (both of which constantly happened). While it still was easier than hand plucking, it did not perform like it should and therefore is being returned.

Works better than you think.
Honestly works pretty good if you do your part. If you can’t afford a commercial plucker and don’t have time to build your own this will help.

Does 90% of the work
Requires good upper body strength to maneuver both a spinning drill and a floppy chicken, but got the bulk of the job done quickly. If you have a way to strap your drill to a post or table, do so! Struggled to remove blood feathers and pinfeathers, which still needed cleanup by hand.

Not bad for cornish cross
Works well for the meat chicken breeds.(cornish cross)Does NOT work well for your heritage breed roosters.

This works on Turkeys!
The attachment saved us so much time butchering turkeys! They don't fit into the biggest plucker that we could find.So far we used it on 9 turkeys and it is still holding up.
