The transmitter on this band is located inside end of the watch strap, under the clasp. This means that the signal must pass through the overlapping strap in order to be read. This results in having to press the watch band against the unit's sensor to read. Because of this design, often times the safe does not open on the first attempt, forcing the user to employ the combination for quick release. Great idea, but not working as I expected. The RFID chip needs to be relocated to the front or side of the band for better functionality.

This is great for my safe. Only problem is getting used to the weight and having to be really precise with how you apply it to your RFID reader.

You'd think RFID would be in the big metal buckle (sorry accent embossed bezel), which I guess is supposed to make it look like something a grown man would wear. Instead, it's in the back where the clasp is, so it's always covered with the extra strap. This essentially means you have to twist your wrist in an awkward position and get it directly against the reader. It's awkward and annoying, and not rapid. Nice idea with these safes, just poor design/engineering.

I purchased one of these with my Rapid Safe Night guard. It was the only RFID tag that would not sink with the safe. I returned it and ordered another one. It also does not work. It will be returned.

This is nothing like the product phool which is of the fixed size band. What you receive looks like an ID bracelet with a buckle and tongue with holes for adjustment. It has a large thick metal rectangle smoke colored with the word Hornady clearly embossed into it giving away it's likely purpose which is bad for consealed carry. The rfid tag is next to the buckle, so you present the bottom of your wrist to the safe. I would prefer something descreet myself, not a dead giveaway that you likely carry and may have your weapon in your car.
