Good product for us
We put this on our deck 4 years ago and are just now needing a new coat. It held up well with proper prep before putting it on. Made it so that we could walk on our deck even though its old and full of splinters giving us a few more years before replacement.

Do Not Buy
Unless you love peeling paint, and burned feet, steer clear of this product. I called and told them all about the issues we were having (we purchased 4, 5 gallon pails-over $700). We painted our pool deck with a very pretty light grey, thinking the light color would be great, and not get hot. Woah, we actually have to encourage our grand kids to run on the deck to get to a shady spot. The paint peeled all over the place, even though we prepped according to instructions. They had us jump through all kinds of hoops. I had to take pictures and send them info, had to mail them a sample of a peeling piece of paint, and then we never heard from them again. Bad product, worse customer service. I am going to buy rubber mats for my pool deck to cover this up, and make our deck enjoyable again.

HUGE Mistake!!!!
After sanding both my upper and lower decks It was recommended that I try this by a hardware store employee. It went on well though it’s thick and therefore a gallon went really quickly. The look was nice and the tougher texture was good on the lower deck around the pool. Fast forward a year later. The deck are impossible to clean. I have done everything. All dirt and pollen adheres to the surface and does not want to come off. All the prep work I did was in vain now that I see the finish now. Do not buy this for you decks or porches.

Color swatches are way off!
**Update 9/2019! It's a year later and there are a dozen spots where this paint is peeling off. It didn't last 6 months before the peeling started. I wouldn't recommend wasting your money on this stuff! Several of the peeling spots are in low traffic areas and under a roof, so it's not damage from rain or dripping water. We just painted our deck with this paint, so I will have to check back to update about the durability. If you are going to buy this paint, be careful about the color! The swatch isn't even CLOSE to what we ended up with. We took it back and exchanged for another color. Originally, we got brick red and it looked pink. We waited until the test area dried, and it was mauve. Nowhere close to red! Just be cautious about the coloring!

I would definitely recommend it, but it will need touch ups at some point, like any outdoor paint.
To counter the one other review that gave it one star, we bought this 2 years ago (not from Amazon) along with the same stuff without the grit (for vertical surfaces-railing, etc) Is it perfect? No. Is it a vast improvement to what we had and does it last reasonably well? Yes.If you google other reviews, people will say that is extremely thick and sometimes hard to spread, it's more like a pudding consistency than a paint. I should also note that we used a deck stripping spray also from Cabot to clean our deck prior to painting it. Read the directions on their site, then read them again, and follow them. No use buying the stuff and putting it down for it up to peel up in a few months. We used rollers and paint brushes to spread it on REALLY thick, and actually used 3 coats on the deck. 2 on the railings, without the gritty stuff, and I wish we would've used 3 coats on that as well, but we ran out. You should factor in that it may not go as far as you were expecting, but I don't remember the specifics of our square footage vs what we ended up using. It's better to apply it very thick than try to stretch it to cover. The stuff without grit is obviously easily to spread and will go a little further, we just should've bought a little more. It was a little bit of a pain to spread on, but it's definitely do-able.I recommend buying it, and mixing really really well, either with the mixer thing you attach to a drill, or buy it in a store that has the paint shaker machine. We had them mix the 5 gallon bucket and it was fine, but you will get some of the grittiness settling to the bottom. Then use it within a day or two, if possible. It helps if you mix it good in between each coat.We used it almost two years ago, and there is some peeling, mainly on the high traffic areas, like the stairs of our deck, and the flat horizontal part of the railing that is in full sun all day. We also have a 90 lb dog that bounds up and down the stairs multiple times a day. It's held up suprisingly well. There are some big strips that have peeled up in a few spots, but it's been two years, this stuff should not be expected to be some miracle fix. Any paint will peel after full sun exposure all summer (we're in PA), and rain and snow. You should be prepared to do normal maintenance, like you would without that is outdoors year round. We probably should touch up some spots now, at almost 2 years in. Having said that, I would buy it again, in fact I thought to write the review because I'm going to buy a few gallons of the stuff without grit to paint an outdoor picnic table. It's pricey, but it seemed to get better reviews than the box stores' brands of deck correcting paint. This stuff feels ok to walk on, I didn't find it super slippery, maybe a tiny bit the first week, but I've never slipped on it and can walk on it in bare feet, and our dog has never had an issue walking on it.I would definitely recommend it, but it will need touch ups at some point, like any outdoor paint.

Very Durable, good looking.
I applied this to a deck that was horribly neglected... dried, cracked boards, with lots of mildew. I put a lot of work into prepping the deck - scrubbed and pressure washed it with bleach/detergent, then went over it with a sander. 5 gal covered about 500 sq ft. The stuff is like a milkshake, so it fills smaller cracks. After 2 years it still looks great. No hint of cracking or peeling. Will definitely use it on other decks.

After 1 year - I'm Pleased
We have an 11 year old cedar deck in Minnesota that gets a lot of sun. We could not get more than 1 year out of a solid color deck stain. We used Deck Correct last year and, after 1 year, our deck still looks great. We did take care in prepping the surface, though we did not sand down to bare wood. As you look around, there are a lot of varying reviews on the this product. For me, so far, it performed as advertised. Time will tell.

Use a thick nap roller.
I can’t really say anything about the wear and tear as we are still applying the paint. I will say however to use a very thick nap roller. We started out using a 3/8” roller but that was not getting into the cracks of the old wood. We switched to a 1 1/4” nap and it makes all the difference!
