Could become a go-to
Not only a fascinating volume for those interested in the finer details of the wonderful contemporary and historical cuisine of Turkey but a truly useful cookery book. The recipes are clearly explained, do not involve long lists of difficult to source ingredients, and the greatest mystery about them is that some have fallen out of regular use - although others will be welcome friends to regular visitors to Turkey. This is not just a book to read, it is one that will provide recipes likely to become staples for meals at any time of day and useful for vegetarians and omnivores. Highly recommended.

A Turkish View of the Wonderful World of Eggs
Not quite what I expected. Instead of the standard egg recipe book, this 80 odd page contains thirty or so recipes is more a commentary and guide to Turkish cooking [with eggs] and traces the Ottoman tradition of cuisine through to modern Turkish dishes. As such it is fascinating, and the recipes themselves surprisingly simple, once I had twigged that "Garbanzo Beans" are aka chick peas. Turkish cuisine is on the light side, and with eggs, very adaptable to informal British suppers. Quantities are American - cups etc, which isn't perfect but I don't mind.
