Pompeii is a movie directed by Paul W.S. Anderson, who also had directed the Resident Evil Saga.For this movie, like Clinton said in an interview, Anderson wanted a mix between Orchestal and Electronic music, but, when Clinton gave him the first demo, Anderson stayed impressed and when he heared the first cue with of the movie with the orchestra, Anderson decided to take only orchestal music in it.Clinton Shorter, gave his reputation with the aclaimed District 9.Pompeii is a good movie, with amazing CGI shoots, and the music Clinton wrote for this, is easy one of the best of the year, and one the highlights is the track 15 "I Won't Leave You", a beautiful and amazing cue with the amazing female voice.If you want to hear a beautiful score, with action and choral themes, then Pompeii is for you.Clinton Shorter, will be raising, and he is one of the new composers era. Keep looking him.

Pompeii is made up of sweeping orchestral pieces that incorporate drums, brass, percussion and vocal elements to great effect. One is awed by the vibrant and powerful compositions that elicit strong emotional feelings and at times of epic proportions.Clinton Shorter has composed a very moving and memorable soundtrack. Track 1 'Pompeii' opens with a masterpiece of epic proportions-vibrant, powerful and dramatic. Track 2 'Slaughter' is eerie, mournful and sad. Track 15 'I won't leave you' certainly tugs at the heart-strings with beautiful vocals and haunting sounds. Track 12 'End of the world' is a sweeping orchestral piece that is contemplative and elicits introspection. The whole album is a total feast to one's senses.The album consists of 16 tracks and 45 minutes of wonderful playing time and for me it's value for money.

Disaster movies can be pretty good or very bad so I wasn't sure what to expect with Pompeii. I was pleasantly surprised as the spectacle is something to behold. Excellent effects, maybe a little over the top, decent story and good acting made this a treat. You can't escape the obligatory love story but it works ok here. It also wasn't overly long so you got right into the story and you don't have to wait long for the disaster scenes to begin. All in all, very enjoyable.

As a writer and artist I like to have instrumental music on when I work, without vocals injecting words I understand into my brain. This soundtrack has a variety of pieces some haunting, heroic, uplifting, and an excellent chase scene composition. Music like any art is incredibly subjective, so I can only say that I am very pleased with the variety of music and it suits my purpose very well.

I never saw the movie, but the sound track is wonderful!

This epic music is one of the most beautiful and best ever! I will be looking forward to check for more artwork from this composer in the future! It can easy compare to Zimerman and others; although this one is similar, it also adds up its own distinctive flavor, and one of the songs is absolutely romantic and charming. This is a gorgeous CD!

If you enjoy dynamic music then this is definately worth listening to. Mister Shorter did a brillient job of matching music to the film. I look forward to more of this composer's work.

A great gift for my dad, who loved the movie (so did I). Fabulous music to write to. Always great to have soundtracks for that purpose, or just to listen to while traveling or doing housework. I'm sure I'll be getting myself a copy before too long.

I loved this film soundtrack , being unfamiliar with the composer I watched the film with great joy because film music is one of my big passions and I liked greatly , so much so I ordered the soundtrack straight away . I look foreword to hearing more from this composer .
