Great tamper

Good weight well made perfect solution for the cheap lightweight one that came with coffee machine for the motorhome , we have a sage barista at home and may get another to use on that ,no hesitatation in recommending this tamper

This OXTXO tamper just replaced the combined plastic scoop and tamper that came with our coffee machine, and it's made using the machine so much better - thus better tasting coffee.To be clear, our coffee machine isn't anything fancy. Hence, the combined plastic scoop and tamper.The tamper is a little over 280g in weight. The base is smooth and can be unscrewed easily enough for cleaning. The handle has a nice feel to it, it doesn't bend or dig into the hand.It does feel heavy and flattens the coffee grounds immediately. A nice even compression every time I've used it, allowing the water to saturate the grounds and evenly use all the coffee. The result has been a more consistent coffee flavour instead of a hit or miss with every coffee. I measured the tamper and it is indeed 51mm exactly. Fits perfect in our portafilter, it won't rock side to side in the portafilter (something the plastic one never quite managed).The silicone mat is a nice addition. I'm storing the tamper on top of the coffee machine and it doesn't move around while on the mat, even when the machine is vibrating as it makes the coffee.Overall, an excellent upgrade for our coffee machine.

This is a great quality coffee tamper. It has excellent built quality and has a lot of weight to it. You can also detach the wooden handle from the metal tamper by unscrewing it. Unfortunately I got my measurements wrong so it is too small for my Sage Bambino portafilter as you can see in the photos but I would still recommend it if you are absolutely sure that your measurements are correct as it is great value for money!

Minderwertige Qualität und nicht der Abbildung entsprechend. Das Holz ist nicht schön gemasert wie auf dem Foto, sondern billig bearbeitetes Buchenholz, einfach braun. Der Stahl weist unregelmäßige Schleifspuren auf.
