Freakin Good Stuff
I lift weights regularly but not in an effort to bulk up, so Freak Shake seemed like a drink supplement that might help my routine and I found that it did. I'm in my late 40's and hoping to preserve an athletic lifestyle through weight training in spite of arthritis. I've used it as a post-workout drink and had less joint and muscle discomfort at night when I notice it most and my muscles actually were less fatigued when I lifted multiple days in a row, compared to weeks prior. I went with the caramel latte flavor and for a powder mixed with water, it seriously tastes like a shake, not chalky or grainy like protein powders. I have to hide it in the pantry so my kids don't use it up for snacks, no joke.

I don't dislike it, but I don't love it
What a world, you can have a pre-workout drink, a workout drink, and post-workout drink. Note this is a post-workout one, not that it doesn't do other good things, but it really is balanced around that (per label and my nutritionist friend). So, you just left the gym, time for a nice cool glass of...iced caramel latte. I don't hate this flavor choice, my one hangup is that it is caffeinated, and I workout later in the day. But it is very low caffeine, so there is that. My first piece of advice, FOLLOW THE MIXING DIRECTIONS. I am usually trying to get a lot of water in after a workout, but if you water this down, it's pretty gross. Mixed correctly, the flavor is all right, and props for using cane sugar instead of some artifical sweetner or monkfruit or stevia. However, it is still pretty gritty, and I have mixed this until it just can't be mixed no more and you can't get it totally smooth. As for the actually effect, I can't say I enormously notice it versus my usual routine. Maybe I am just doing a pretty good post-workout thing already (a smoothie which also has a good carb/protein ratio and antioxidants), so it might be more if you are just like, water/gatorade or something.Really, it doesn't taste bad, though it is gritty. It does have caffeine, which doesn't strike me as beneficial for anyone post-workout and I think most of us workout later in the day, but I suppose if you are a get up and run before work person, a caffeinated, coffee flavor recovery drink could be perfect. Plus, in my book someone who does that is already a bit of a masochist, so the slight sensation of drinking sand might be a plus!

I like the taste, and it gives me a decent energy boost.
I like the taste. Caramal lattee is pretty accurate to what you would expect. It's good before a workout because it has a little bit of caffeine, so it gave me that perfect little jolt of energy to have a productive workout. It mixed well and didn't have any clumping or weird aftertaste that some workout powders have. It says after a workout, but I like to use it before because of the caeffine. I'm trying to wind down after my workout. The only thing that would prevent me from ordering this is the sugar content. This is packed full of sugar. 27 grams of added sugar per scoop. If I'm working out, usually I'm eating healthy as well, and I don't want all that unnecessary added sugar. If they could make this taste as good with less sugar, I would definitely give it another go.

Yummy recovery shake
This recovery shake was different than I expected and I like that it is not just a protein shake but also has electrolytes and carbs. I feel stronger after drinking this and sometimes when I skip a meal I drink this and it is very fulfilling. I am enjoying the flavor, the caramel latte is the perfect amount of sweet and coffee. I feel like the value is pretty good for the quality of the shake, and get quite a few servings from this shake. Overall I am happy with this shake, and feel like I have found a new and yummy recovery drink.

Well-formulated ingredients, decent taste
I couldn't help myself but to order this when I saw this caramel latte flavored carb/electrolyte/protein powder. Now, this is the first powder that I've had that is formulated specifically for endurance training. However, I do like this powder. It has a lot of things that can benefit you for resistance style training as well. Clearly, with the electrolyte content, it's best formulated for endurance sports/exercise like biking, running, swimming, etc. However, the protein and carbohydrate contents also seem phenomenal for a post-workout recovery shake for recovery and muscle synthesis. I typically don't like to consume a lot of added sugar, but it seems that this is intentionally formulated in this way for recovery, which I'm not complaining about. I am impressed with the ingredient quality in this powder; the list is very readable and short, unlike a lot of other sport/protein powders. When it comes to the flavor, I'm not a huge fan. It resembles a caramel latte, but it does not nail the flavor. It tastes like a watered-down version of what the drink should be like, even with a smaller amount of liquid. Overall, I am happy using this powder after some hard workouts for a good recovery. 4/5 stars; I wish they got the flavor a little bit better.

Disgusting
I tried everything I could. I mixed it with water, then milk. I tried to make a protein pudding. I just can't stand this stuff. Didn't mix well with a spoon, but a wire whisk got rid of the clumps. The smell is like coffee mixed with something medicinal. And the taste just makes me cringe, like sweet horror. I can't even taste any caramel. Avoid this.

Hard to Dissolve
So unlike many of the other reviewers, I am not a significant athlete who has to try to eke out every last bit of performance from my body. But sometimes you're a little tired and/or a little hungry, and you want a little more protein or energy, this is great.I mixed with milk, because I like milk, and I wanted to enjoy this drink mix. I found the flavor a little sweet, but enjoyable. The powder dissolved fairly well but not completely, which was a little annoying. Still, it tastes like a caramel latte as it is supposed to, and it didnt taste odd or have chemical flavors. I am pleased with this even though the lid came shattered and I had to decant it into a glass jar upon opening the seal.
