Eliminate Zapper has done a great job killing flies. I purchased a swatter that's too stiff and destroys screen but is deadly on a flat surface. I purchased Amish type swatter that's easy on a screen but too floppy requiring multiple swats and still limited success. I purchased sticky strips that caught one fly. I watched flies walk over the surface that sticks best to itself. I purchased a plastic swatter with a wire handle that split apart in record time. Moments ago I bought another Amish type that appears to have stiffer (?) leather. But the zapper gets'em good. It's so satisfying to hear the zap pop of another dead fly. The downside is the fried flies end up around the zapper with a just few in the catch tray below. I couldn't care less. I use the zapper at night drawing flies into the deadly light. I've run it during the day and still hear snap crackle pop. I've recommended to friends and would buy again in a snap! Yuck, yuck.

Just got it and it began popping flies right away. One got zapped so hard his wings fell off. Gives off a slight Burt hair smell. Some flies were stunned and woke up. I’ll wait to see how the second zap goes. Oh wait...the fly just tipped over and died.Update: seems to stun the flies, they wake up but can’t fly. Just walk around. I have only used it for 20 min and of the 5 flies zapped 3 are walking. I put the Eliminator in a box top for copy paper and it seems to contain the walkers. Bothered that I have a Walking Dead thing going on here.Update**though it seems to stun the flies, they are done and die shortly-there-after. Works pretty good. Been taking care of the problem, the flies are done flying after the zap.

I live in a log cabin in the ozarks and have a ongoing problem with gnats and Asian beetles. I found this eliminator offered at the best price I have seen for this type of bug zapper. The price also included free shipping. I have tried other styles of bug zappers like zinger, night lights, bulb type etc. They never work on the real small stuff like fruit flies and gnats. This type does work on everything. I received it yesterday and in twelve hours it zapped at least 100 gnats that I did not even know where flying around in the house.I just ordered another one for another house that I have that also has an Asian beetle problem after the first frost. One caution is that this type of zapper that goes by many names only seems to work for about a year. Once the bulbs burn out I have not had success in getting them to work again. Even so, less than $30 to deal with the house bug problem for a year seems reasonable to me.

This unit works great. I placed it on top of my refrigerator and it could also be use for night light. This will sizzle the flies, and bugs in your kitchen which is also a common place for these bugs to hangout. Very easy to clean and if you want some entertainment during the summer. Place this unit in the patio at night. It's going to be a war zone !!

Does it's thing well - turn it on and let it go...within a few hours your home will be cleared of flies. It does a great job of attracting and killing them. The only thing to be careful of: twice the flies started sparking when caught on the electric wire. they were smoking, sending off sparks, and could have been a potential fire hazard had I not immediately turned it off. the burning stench was not enjoyable, either. from now on, I only use when I am around to monitor for fear of fire.

Our factory had a problem with flies and our pest control company charged us $450 for each unit. I purchased this for another area and it works exactly the same. Just don't have it somewhere where you want peace and quiet. It does make a harsh buzz when it exterminates the poor fly. Other than that our fly problem is under control.

A good time killer. I sometimes spend hours watching things get zapped. I even go outside and use my leaf blower to clear all the bugs out. This thing is great. I put some octenol lures on it to attract mosquitos to it.
