Traeger Grills MIX001 Smoked Simple Syrup Cocktail Mixer

I bought this and all the other ingredients to make the *perfect* old fashioned for a Father's Day gift for my husband. He said it was one of the best drinks he's ever had, even with my limited bartending skills. He said the smoky flavor is definitely there and adds an interesting oomph to drinks. We will be purchasing this again for sure.

I was a big fan of Tippleman's smoked maple syrup (received as a gift), but when I went to buy more I was shocked at the price. The Traeger stuff is much cheaper and tastes just as good if not better. The smoke flavor isn't prominent but the clove is. Goes very well with bourbon in an old fashioned. Two thumbs way up.

Shipping fast, packaged well, Looks great. I couldn't wait to try this so make an old fashioned within the hour. First I tasted it by itself, alone with nothing to hide or change anything, Heavy clove aroma and taste. Not so much Vanilla. The thing I wanted most and it's in the name, "SMOKED". Nope, didn't taste any of that. Not at all.Is it bad? No, just disappointed in the name verses what I got. Made the old fashioned, a little muddled lemon and two real black cherries and a splash of orange bitters. Good flavor but no smoke flavor. Not long ago I had a "smoked" old fashion at a bar (when we could go there) and they somehow smoke the whiskey or bourbon. It was good. Keep looking, not this product. : IUpdate: I have used the entire bottle. I got used to it. My updated recipe ... 2.5 ounces bourbon, 1/2 ounce Traeger, 3-4 shakes orange bitters, 1/2 slice fresh orange, muddled, 2 black cherries with syrup. Stir and fill with ice. Smashing, literally. As before, not what I was looking for but everyone I serve this to really likes it.

Works in cocktails as advertised AND I've used this to round out the flavor of different fall and winter beers that turned out to be too harsh/bitter on their own. Added to coffee for a more complex sweetness. Easy to mix in. Not overpowering. Just good stuff. Will definitely be getting again.

I use this syrup for making old fashions and I love the smokey flavor that it adds. Totally kicks up the tastes of the drinks. Decent value for the money and a little goes a long way.

Super delicious syrup to improve many cocktail recipes!! Poorly designed bottle that drips on itself during most pours. Would highly recommend if you’re into mixing drinks, but maybe transfer it to a nicer bottle upon arrival.

It's great if you're like me and it takes time to crush down some demerara cubes. This is helpful if you wanna whip up a couple of quick old fashions. The sweetness doesn't particularly kill the whiskey, but it adds a wood flavor to it. I honestly don't taste too much of smokey flavor more of a woody syrup. Still looking for a way to ad smoke to my drinks but it's still not a bad choice for a plain sugar sub.

I love everything about this except the bottle. If there was a spout of some sort, it may help with not allowing stickiness on the outside after pouring. The taste is amazing. I use it in my iced matcha lattes. Perfect!
