I got this because it says it can cut watermelon. It can! But, with a roast, it can cut as thin of a slice as you wish. Good balance, appears well made, and the sheath is a definite plus. Absolutely worth the price.

still have a lot of resistance when cutting into melons; I have used better

I used this to cut the top and tail of a mini watermelon and it worked fine. I typically would prefer a slightly serrated blade, but this cut fine, is sharp, and the blade is strong. The handle provides a good grip and the knife does what it needs to do.

I am impressed with how well this knife performs when cutting through watermelon and cantaloupe. It cuts through melons effortlessly and makes fruit prep so much easier. It has quickly become my go-to tool for slicing fruits in the kitchen.
