Worth taking time to read, and read again
Outstanding read! A must for anyone who has ever suffered a trauma, or simply struggles with the everyday challenges of living and learning to mentally release and let go of things they can't control, to include the hurtful, harmful, often unwitting behaviors of other people. Forgive them, for "they know not what they do", even though it may seem quite the opposite. Forgive yourself for not being whatever it is you got programmed from childhood to think "you weren't enough of" for this or that person, or got programmed to think others owe you or are "supposed to be" like in order to be acceptable in society. Letting go and loving yourself, accepting the gift of forgiveness for yourself, not because these others necessarily "deserve" forgiveness, but because YOU deserve it so you can reclaim your own well-being and peace of mind. I got a lot from this book. Working to apply the principles in it to my thought life.

Dare to Forgive Is A Good Primer On Forgiveness:
I am presently teaching a Bible class using this book as the foundation. The class members have told me that this book has been a great help in their search for the meaning of forgiveness and how to incorporate forgiveness in their daily lives. The book is well written. Each chapter has meaningful stories that anyone can relate to. Highly recommend this to anyone who is searching for a way to forgive themselves or others.

Intelligent, uplifting, healing & life-transforming book!
"Dare to Forgive" is a healing book. It shares real stories of business people who were falsely accused, blamed for things that weren't their fault, political candidates whose words were miscontrued, plus incest and rape survivors, and other real life examples. When you read this book, you quickly realize that you're not alone. Many people are innocent victims who did nothing to deserve the wrongs against them. As you read this book, you feel angry, but you'll also laugh until your face is red. You'll be drawn in, and want to keep reading until the very last page. Honestly, this book is a masterpiece, worth far more than the cover price or what you pay for it.Dr. Halliwell is a Harvard-educated psychiatrist, but he develops his concept of forgiveness from unlikely sources, like taxi cab drivers. One of Dr. Halliwell's personal stories is about losing a parking place to a BMW, and getting so angry that he jumped on top of the car and pounded his fists until they moved. There is a wide spectrum of emotions and experiences in this book-- lots of surprises, jolts, twists and turns. One my favorite parts of the book was Dr Halliwell's story about Josselyn, his cousin. Evidently, Dr Halliwell was once so angry with her that he vowed never to speak to her again. He also revisits the house that he grew up in, where he had been physically abused, and makes peace with his past. "Dare to Forgive" reveals a strategy for forgiveness, but its the personal stories that brings the message home. It takes courage to forgive, and this book will help you find that strength to let go and move on with your life. Highly recommended, rewarding and satisfying, 5 stars book.

Dr. Hallowell's book is great read with many thought provoking illustrations that make you "Dare To Forgive"-WIW
I have been following Dr. Edward Hallowell for a while, as both he and me, we have ADHD. I truly like the premise of this book, as there are some family members that I need to constantly forgive...and quite honestly, I am not there yet. The writing and the illustrations that Hallowell uses in his book are thought prevoking. I'm not finished the book as of yet and will change my review status, after I am finished reading it. Hightly recommend this book!
