Jim Reaper 1: Son of Grim

A fantastic, slightly spooky, fun book, full of crazy adventure. Who knew...The Grim Reaper has a son! Jim's suspicious about what his ordinary seeming dad does for a living, and intends to find out, aided by his best friend. However, he's got other things on his mind, like finding a way to get himself a new Bazoom! scooter, and impressing his friend's gorgeous older sister.

I bought this under recommendation from a friend for my 8 & 9yr old daughters. My youngest read it within 24hrs and loved every minute (my other daughter has just started it) . She couldn't put it down and especially loved the Dr Who references! Already preordered the next book "Granny Maggot" to continue the story. We'll be looking out for future Rachel Delahaye stories from now on. A great new author!

I liked the mystery element of the story and the characters were all really funny. My favourite character is Will because he comes up with random stuff and his mouth is ahead of his brain! I am looking forward to reading the next 2 books in the series (by 10-year-old reviewer).

Was a great choice of book to read to my son & really captured his imagination. As soon as we finished it, he asked his Dad to start reading it to him (he's never asked for the same book twice).In his own words 'it's the best book EVER, even better than Harry Potter!!! It should be made into a film'.Looking forward to Saving Granny Maggot
