With a simple mod. it will improve operation 100%
It was used on a Carolina Skiff 2180 DLX. It did not solve the problem of losing the bottom at high speed. I lost it at about 10 mph and it constantly caught grass and would quit. But a simple modification that I added solved the problem that is common on these flat or semi-flat bottom boats. I keep that bottom at 25 to 30 mph in a chop and higher of relatively flat water. I have held bottom at 40 mph with it. I am willing to discuss the alteration with the manufacturer.

Excellent concept!
Excellent concept, get the transducer out of the disturbed water next to the boat. Challenge is that the delicate adjustments required between splashing cascades of water vertically shooting upward from the transom no readings at all are very slight. It doesn't take mush to look at the mount to know you will have to fiddle with it. It has no lock in click adjustment. Reach your hand in the water and loosen bolts underwater with a pair of wrenches and shift position... how far? How good is you sense of feel? I bought it and for the money there is nothing better and now I get a reading while on the run when before I didn't. They can do it better but hey it works!

Awesome Mod!
I bought a 2020 Solstice 230 pontoon boat and was frustrated that I was losing the bottom at ~15 knots. Other pontoon boat owners told me this was common and to "deal with it!" I found the speed-Reeder online and figured it was worth a shot. It was a simple install minus the boat lift rocking up and down and a few lost screws. Now I get a reeding at my top speed of 42 MPH. Great product, I don't know why transducer mounts aren't built this way to begin with!

Great product: Does what it promises!
I just installed the Johnny Ray JR-3 Universal Speed-Reeder on my Premier tri-toon and solved 100% of my depth reading problems! I can read depth at full top speed on this boat (about 40 mph). This product is quality and does exactly what it promises. The boat came with a Hummingbird depth finder/GPS, but the folks at Premier obviously didn't have a clue how to mount the transducer correctly...and had no interest in helping me solve the technical problem. Talking with Hummingbird and searching the web I found this product and installed it myself. I used stainless bolts and it was relatively simple. I would highly recommend this product.
