very adjustable and thoughtfully designed (mostly)
I bought this chest/backpack to take our papillon (6 lb. dog) on motorcycle rides with us. The small size was recommended for her weight but I bought the medium size thinking it would be big enough for her to curl up in the bottom, which she does as well as riding with her head out the top. I added a 1/2 " piece of firm foam to the floor, which is a hard material covered with a thin cloth, to improve her comfort. The carrier is primarily mesh with solid nylon portions to maintain the integrity of the carrier. Thus it is well ventilated, but still sturdy. There are several pockets, some zippered and some open. One really nice feature is the entire top portion is zippered so your pet can be easily placed in the pack rather than opening the neck and squeezing them thru it. This leads to my one complaint. The neck has a drawstring tightener around it with a common plastic brake to prevent the strings from loosening. However the plastic brake is located in front in the lowest part of the neck, precisely where our dog rests her throat on the neck of the carrier. This would be decidedly uncomfortable for any length of time, particularly if the pet is being jostled while hiking, bike riding etc. However, since the top side can be unzipped, there is no need to adjust the neck. I simply removed the plastic brake, tightened the neck appropriately, tied the strings & cut them to length. The knot fits inside neck's sleeve and will be much more comfortable. Another design feature I really appreciate is the small strap with a clip located inside the neck that can attach to a harness on our dog. I would hate to have her somehow panic and jump out of the pack while motoring down the highway at 60 mph.

Easy to use but design and quality could be improved
We tried several options for our 13yr old 25 pound minipin. He is getting old, loves to walk but needs brief periods of rest particularly on uphill or rocky terrain. We wanted something we could easily and quickly get him in and out of as we dont want want him to ride in the backpack more that 10 minutes at a time. This one was the simplest and easiest to use. Of all the backpacks we tried this one worked out the best. It is also very comfortable for the carrier of the backback. It does sag with the wight of the dog. We fixed this by rolling up a towel and placing it on once side of the base, then added a cushion on top of it. This helped make the diagonal angle of the base (due to the sag) level up so the dog can sit more comfortably. The quality of the stitches is not very strong so we do not expect this to last too long. However it more than served its purpose for our recent hiking vacation and its totally worth it even if it does not last too long. So happy that we could take our dog along with us on our hikes without having to stop or carry him in our arms.

Back pack dog carrier
Our 15 pound terrier fits nice, snug and comfortable into this medium size! Super easy to use and appears to be of good quality. We first tried the large size based on our pups weight, but he sank to the bottom almost out of sight.

Broken Clasps and Painful
The media could not be loaded. The product is great, however one of the clasps does not stay clipped on no matter how tight or loose you set it. it is for the upper part of the wearer’s back/chest and it causes the bag and dog to slouch forward putting a lot of pain and pressure onto the shoulders.

Ok
It’s kind of floppy and awkward to wear. It’s definitely not as sturdy as advertised. It’s not the worst thing in the world, but it isn’t super safe unless your dog is clipped by a harness. If not your dog can slip out easily or get injured if clipped in by a collar.

My Schnauzer loved it
I was nervous using this item. My dog is three years old and had never done this before. I used it in the front and took her for a ride on my scooter. She loved it! She likes to be facing forward and she was relaxed. It really helped that the bottom of the pack is solid and support her. Once you get the straps adjusted it is comfortable to wear with the dog in it.

Not the best carrier
I have a Corgi and the sizing said a medium would work. However I did not like the way he was positioned in the bag. It has his spine curved and wasn’t in a good position for a prolonged period of time. The straps were not all that comfortable either.
