I can make a real sauce from scratch. When there just isn’t time or enough meat jus for a pan sauce, this is a great addition to an improvised sauce or gravy. The taste can be salty or a bit unusual if you use it strictly on its own. I recommend using 1T to 1 cup of liquid, but you will need to thicken with your own roux. I add the Bisto to my hot chicken stock or beef stock, and then add that to my pan roux. Adds a nice flavor and color. Of course, you can use according to the package directions; it just may be too salty for some people. My kids love this, and my Mom has been using it since the 70s. I believe it is a Canadian product.

This is the most delicious gravy I have every tasted. I would recommend it.
