I ordered the shells to match out outdoor decor and I got some old lady ones. They are durable and feel nice, but for the price I could have found something that was microwaveable and the right set.

I wanted to replace our 50 year old dishes. I purchased a set of Mikasa Trellis china. They are beautiful but very fragile. One of the soup bowls cracked when I used it. Very disappointing. I remembered that my Mother had Corelle dishes that she got from the grocery store. Indestructible.When I saw these dishes on Amazon, I jumped at the chance to have everyday dishes that would be "Indestructible". My wife has Alzheimer's disease and sometimes wants to hold a bowl or plate. After a few minutes she forgets that she is holding something and lets go of it. These dishes do not shatter on impact.About the only negative thing that can be said is the surface of the dishes is not flat. For my purposes, this is not a problem. In fact it may help keep the food on the the dish. It is clear these dishes are intended for casual eating. The plates are not perfect circles. I find the food on the plate is more important to me than a dish.This is a good set of Dinner, Bread, Soup Bowls, and Large Bowls. Pick from one of the many color patterns I chose the gray marble.

I like these plates and found the price at the time of this review ($42) to be fair if not "a deal". The "sandbar" design has a scalloped surface that you can see and feel and adds an extra touch, making it a cut above the plastic plates you might compare them to. The sizes are all just as you'd expect and the bowls are sized well enough to make them useful for a variety of purposes. The colors are vibrant and the print is well done with no errors noticed. All in all a cheerful set of dinnerware that, should the design appeal to you, you should be happy with for times when shatterproof is preferred.

I love this melamine dinnerware set! The pattern is great, and melamine is so lightweight and easy to use. I am replacing a winter-themed melamine set with this one for summer use. The only drawback to melamine is you can't use it in the microwave, but that's not a problem for me; I keep glassware for use in the microwave (no plastics). Melamine dishware for everyday use is a great alternative to both heavy stoneware, expensive china, and paper plates. I recommend this TarHong Coastal Scallops 12 piece melamine dinnerware set.

This dish set looks incredible in person as the marble finish really shows, and each dish is lightweight yet large enough to fit giant portions of food. Each dish is microwave and dishwasher safe, and these dishes are well made and durable. Overall, this is a great dish set if you want to replace your heavier dishes with something that weighs less and is much more durable. I highly recommend them.
