Perfect for breast surgery because their is a place for the 2 drain bottles
Bought this for my daughter to wear after her breast reduction surgery in November when they removed 9 lbs of breast tissue. After she woke up in recovery the nurses had her fully dressed with her bra that button in the front, and this breast recovery shirt with the internal drain management pockets for the 2 grenade looking plastic bottles for the drains. This shirt was excellent for after surgery, and I would highly recommend for any woman who is having an operation on her breast and will have drains for a week or so. My daughter did say that having the drains were uncomfortable for fear of pulling the tube out of her, but the shirt gave her more confidence and less fear that she would make it through the week, until the tubes were removed.Highly recommend, well made and perfect for recovery. Oh almost forgot. It snaps to button, making easy to close when raising your arms after surgery also hurts.Sorry don't have a picture, she was home from work recovering and it would not have been her best picture for the world to see. Could not have managed without it
Today, is 4 weeks post double mastectomy related to breast cancer. I was sent home with 4 drains the last 2 of which were removed one week ago. This top saved me in so many ways. First, I am irrationally squeamish about medical procedures involving needles or IVs or things that invade the body. I was horrified at the thought of JP drains and had dreams of pulling them out or having them hang out of my person. With this shirt, those latter thoughts were avoided. The drains slipped into the pockets. There was no movement, tugging, or weird sensations. I was able to comfortably sleep with the drains in. I had a 4 hour drive home from the hospital and the drains were secure in the top. Having the drain bulbs in the top pockets also made using the toilet easier as the bulbs did not need to be hand held. The top is very comfortable. I bought one size larger just because that it how I am. I failed to take my lack of breasts into consideration when selecting fit thinking only of the effect of significant bandages. My regular size would have been sufficient. Having said that, the next size up was not cumbersome. The fabric is soft. Washes well. Handles a dryer's high heat without shrinking. Does not need ironing. Does not fade even in hot water. I purchased the turquoise which is a bright cheery color which I thought would be, and has been, uplifting. The best part of the top was efficiency during post-surgical procedures. The snaps are plastic and securely attached. My surgeon was able to examine me without my having to change into a gown. My home health nurse was able to check bandages without removing the shirt. Changing bandages did require removal of the shirt for obvious reasons.I continue to wear the shirt because it is so comfortable. The temps where I am currently staying, low desert, are in the range of 104 to 112 degrees. I don't leave the house because of those temps but I found the shirt comfortable in the air conditioned indoor temps. In short, the post-surgical experience would have been miserable without this top. I would recommend it to anyone.

Getting those tubes out of the way!!
Wearing these recovery tee shirts has made my post-op surgery so comfortable. I ordered two, so can keep one clean at all times. I sleep in the shirt I have worn all day, then have a clean shirt for the next day. I selected the black and turquoise. The black picks up everything, but o.k. for a one-day wear. Just wish we had more colors available. I wore the black one today for my post-op follow-up visit with the surgical oncologist. I showed her nurse practitioner my tee shirt, then the surgeon. They were very impressed with the design and feel they will be telling other patients about them. The surgeon made note of the name.Wonderful item of clothing helping me through the process of having the drains. If more colors become available, I will probably buy a couple of others to wear during chemo and radiation.Highly recommend!.

must have to hold drains comfortably
would have been better if it was velcro and not snaps. A little hard to snap after a bi-lateral mastectomy. Less expensive than some others nice that it holds drain tubes. I just wish these shirts were more affordable for a cancer patient.

I found this to be an unnecessary cost. The design is great
To be honest, I found this to be an unnecessary cost. The design is great, but in those early days, it's just easier to wear a tank top and hook your drains to a lanyard around your neck or tuck them in an apron.

Great for emotional fulfillment but not for me
The material is soft, snaps are easy enough I was able to do it myself two days after surgery, and emotionally it was a comfort to know I had it. I would not buy it again though as I was to nervous to use it as it's intended purpose. I was afraid of having the drains so far from my body (get snagged, etc). And I really can not justify the price point.

If you are having a bilateral mastectomy, this shirt is worth every penny.
I purchased this shirt in preparation for a bilateral mastectomy. Alongside it, I also purchased a drain belt pouch and a shower drain pouch. I wore this shirt at night for an entire month, which was how long I had my last drain in. I had 3 drains total. The first 2 came out after about 8 days. So, this shirt was extremely useful when I had 3 drains, but just as useful when I had 1 drain, since I had that drain so long. It's nice to have options, so that's why I got the drain belt, also, which I used for appointments outside the house. I mainly wore this shirt at home. I felt very comfortable sleeping in the shirt and it managed all of my drains very well. It was worth every penny.
