80 puzzles in one!
I love good old traditional board games and puzzles, and this one which has a Christmas theme intrigued me.At first glance it looks rather basic, however looks are deceptive, and there are 80 different puzzles to solve by moving pieces around to build up a snowman.Basically you slide snowballs around and try to get them closer to other sequentially sized snowballs to create the snowman.Once you move a piece, it keeps on moving until it hits either another snowball or a tree. Then you can change direction. You can play this on your own, or can have more people involved to give their opinions on what to do!The only negative for me is that everything is made out of plastic as personally speaking, wood would have been so much nicer. The puzzles are set up so that you can spend as little or as long as you want. You can do the simple puzzles quite quickly, but the more complicated ones are really taxing and you can sit with it for hours! As regards age groups, it is really aimed at children over the age of 8, and it can be a nice way for parents to interact with their children and solve puzzles together. Having said that, it is also taxing for adults on their own!I think that in view of the fact that there are so many puzzles within it, it is worth the current price of £22.99.

Great for the grey matter.
Snow Problem is a puzzle game. The box contains a board, three trees, three snowmen and the puzzle booklet with instructions. All the pieces are really good quality and with care, this limited addition puzzle (with only 3000 out there) will last and can be passed down to the next generation and beyond. The booklet contains 80 puzzles to solve. There are five difficulty levels, starter, junior, expert, master and wizard. The object of each puzzle is to build the snowmen by moving the snowmen pieces around the board. First off, select one of the puzzles in the booklet and set the board up as indicted. Move the pieces of the snowman around the board until it comes to an object blocking its path. It must then stop and another piece must be selected and moved. Once all the snowman's pieces are side by side on the board, the player can build the snowman to complete the puzzle. It sounds easy, but it's not as easy as it sounds, especially as you work your way up through the levels. If you get really stuck, the solutions to each of the puzzles can be found in the back of the booklet. It's good for critical thinking and problem-solving skills as you work out how to stack snowballs by carefully planning each move across the board. A really good, fun, and engaging way of keeping the brain ticking over, this kinaesthetic puzzle game is a great opportunity to get away from screens (and even pen and paper) and have a real hands-on puzzle experience. In all honesty, whilst it’s certainly possible to team up with others and play as a group, I think it's better suited to solo players, but that's just my personal feeling. For those who enjoy puzzles and a bit of a challenge, this is right up their street. It's perfect for something to do in the dark, cold winter evenings. The board isn't too big, so it can be played on the player's lap while sitting in the armchair in front of the fire.

Fabulous logic game that you can play solo or collaboratively
This is not a game as such but a series of logic problems to be solved. It arrives in a cute, wintery themed, cardboard box which includes a game board, snowmen and Christmas tree pieces and spiral bound book including the puzzles and solutions. The aim of the game is fairly simple. You need to build a snowman, in a specific order, but you can only roll your snowballs until they encounter an obstacle (another snowman piece or a tree). You place your pieces on the board, in one of 80 combinations, and calculate the correct routes to build the correct snowman. The challenges range from Starter to Master level, so you can get the hang of the game before tackling the really tricky conundrums. The rum of this game has been limited to a worldwide total of 3,000, so this has the potential to be a future collectors item. Most importantly though it's an absorbing game that really gets you thinking. Suitable for all ages and you can choose to play solo or collaboratively. At £22.99, at time of review, I think it's fabulous value for a game/challenge that will provide hours of entertainment.

A move planning game with increasing challenges
A Limited Edition Snow Problem Game from The Happy Puzzle Company.Good quality pieces with a snowscape game board , 3 trees and 3 x 3 part snowmen .The game comes with a puzzle book and 80 challenges to solve of increasing difficulty. Take them on solo or take in turns with others .Add players as it gets more difficult or carry on solo .Easy to learn game play where the challenge is to build the snowman by moving the pieces within the rules of play.It sounds simple but takes a lot of thinking about especially as the challenges get more difficult.Theres an indication of the maximum moves you should complete the game in .Snowball pieces can only move towards blocking pieces such as trees or other snowman bits . Once blocked from moving forward they can change direction .Stack middle on bottom ,head on the two lower parts but no stacked pieces can move .Yes it’s good fun and you get absorbed and sometimes a little frustrated in solving these challenges. Cleverly designed to be solved but not quickly , great for testing the brain and thinking a few moves ahead .Good for all abilities , quietly consuming ..once you’ve solved those difficult ones new game play is limited .
