It worked for me
October 2013 - I can confirm this works well and it looks like it can be done repeatedly (it can be refilled again later too). At the moment, I can't confirm how long the refill lasts. The instructions are basic, but okay. The earlier feedback is correct - do this on a table outside and both you and the table will get dirty. I have the LEX260.Read the previous reviews and here are a few extra tips. You will -not- need to remove any screws from the cartridge in order to perform the refill. The cartridge will disassemble into two pieces (you can do this inside) and only part with the gears needs to be taken outside. Bring paper towels, a couple of small flat head screwdrivers, and a small can of compressed air with you. The plastic cap that seals the toner compartment is actually a two part cap. The cap can be -carefully- pried off in one piece (carefully, because you need to reseal this). However, if you pry the cap off and still see a grating instead of an open compartment, then you need to pry out the lower part of the cap too. The toner doesn't just pour in, you'll need to tap and squeeze the container many times in order to get all of the contents out. Reseal the cartridge with the plastic cap. Little bit of compressed air. Paper towels. Reconnect two parts of cartridge. Reinstall cartridge. Print test page. Whole process takes about 15min.Good luck!

Go slow
It can be messy. Toner is very light and spills easy. Glove up, apron on, and work on an easily cleaned table near a garbage can. The instructions are vague. 1. remove wheel, actually means to pry it off carefully by reaching under it and putting pressure on the small area it is attached. It will pop out. 2. Remove cap. This is hard. Have some tweezers and a very small flat head screwdriver. There are two caps. The first one secures the toner is sealed and is very soft. Be careful not to push it into the cartridge. Take the tweezers and pull. Then, nice and slowly, pull the second cap off-- this is in direct contact with the toner and it will cause a mess if you aren't careful. 3. replace the bottle with the spout and screw it on very tightly. If not, air will come out of the sides and squirt toner everywhere. Then, as you are pouring the toner in-- tap it on the side lightly to get all of the toner out of the bottle. 4. Then, replace everything. 5. Place computer chip on bottom. 6. I took a can of air and sprayed the excess toner off of the cartridge and returned it to the printer. I printed a test page and all looks good. I may have to update if things go haywire. :)

First impressions: an excellent product
After loading the toner and running a couple of test pages through the printer, this seems to be an excellent product (if you're willing to get a little messy in the installation). The toner itself comes in a plastic "squirt" bottle, along with a page of sketchy loading instructions, a postage stamp-size reset circuit board, and two latex gloves. Opening the cartridge and loading the toner is straightforward, and requires removing a plastic disc and two layers of plastic seals on the cartridge body. You'll need a pair of pliers to remove the two seals, but overall the process is pretty easy. Working outside and using the latex gloves minimizes the toner mess, but you do have to be reasonably careful. The seals and plastic disc easily snap back into place. The postage stamp-size circuit board on the cartridge body evidently monitors toner readiness status. You have to pop the original board off the cartridge with a screwdriver blade (its held with an adhesive), peel the little protective cover from the replacement board and stick the new board in place. If you're careful, you won't have the toner mess on anything but the latex gloves, and you're ready to go. Print quality seems excellent. A good deal for $40.

So much cheaper than buying a new cartridge. Take ...
So much cheaper than buying a new cartridge. Take your time filling, it does come with a pair of disposable gloves to keep the toner off your hands. Really simple to do.

Easy to mess up
Attempted to add toner to cartridge. Never got that far.The instructions are very simple... probably too simple in that they leave out a few tidbits of good information.Step 1: "Remove the black wheel" can be accomplished by simply pulling it outward with some effort.Step 2: "Gently pop out the plug with a flat head screw driver." Good luck. It is soft plastic, but it is wedged in there pretty good. Using the procedure described, I ended up pushing the plug into the cartridge.By the way, the plug comes in two parts. Removing either the outer or main parts can result in a black-speckled shirt.Never got to Step 3. I am sure that the toner and chip work great per the comments of others.Be careful, and good luck.

does the trick, but be prepared for a slight mess
I'm very handy, and typically very neat. As hard as I tried to work with this, there is a little learning curve. Make sure you work in an area covered with newspaper or other disposable protectant so as not to contaminate your work space or home. Also, the chip used to replace the chip on your old toner does not stick really well, so be perpared to posssibly use a little rubber cement to make it adhere. So far, I haven't had to do this but I expect the chip adhesion to fail at some point. Other than that, this product represents a huge savings compared to the cost of new toner, so i'd buy it again. I hope this helps someone.

Circuit Board Work-Around
Love this product and this company. Great toner, really pleased with the quality. Also easy to refill, but I agree it can be a little messy. Well worth it, though. HOWEVER, I could not get the old circuit board to pop out, and the replacement would not adhere over the original due to a little raised black square that prevented contact with the replacement board backing adhesive. Duct tape to the rescue! I cut a small square of duct tape, folded it around on itself, stuck it just above the raised black square to fill that void, so to speak, then stuck the replacement board to the duct tape. Works like a charm! I've also used this company's replacement Brother copier toner that also works perfectly.
