Book as Advertised
The book arrived on time and in very good condition as advertised. I also really enjoyed reading this book. Karin Slaughter is an excellent suspense author.

Next!
Another good story line - a very creative author who never fails to deliver surprises and at the end a desire buy the next book in the series.

Genesis
I said I would give Karin another go at reading one of her novels, this I must say is the best thriller from her I have read, it keeps you interested and guessing all the time, she has put this book together very very well and now I am a fan of hers, I recommend this as a great read.

Not sure about the main character
I'm not going to lie, I sometimes wonder how Karin Slaughter's mind works. In this book 3 women go missing, and Will Trent, and his partner, get called into the cases to save the day, which they do, of course, They're the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (the Georgia version of the FBI). Trent's a stuffed shirt, while his partner is a gobby so-and-so with anger (and health) issues. In many ways, this is your standard detective story. A serial killer is on the loose, and only the GBI can save the day. It was a decent read, but the subject matter was... somewhat gross. I've not read a Karin Slaughter novel that wasn't somewhat gross, and this one was no exception. If you can put up with the disgusting, you'll get on with this book, just fine. The one thing that profoundly irritates me is the Will Trent character. He has dyslexia. It isn't mild. In fact, it's so profound, he's effectively illiterate. I wouldn't mind, but it's never explained how he managed to get onto the GBI with such a debilitating issue. I really think she could have given him an issue that was remotely believable.

Also known as Undone
Will and Faith find themselves looking for a killer after women in an anorexia group. His torture is brutal but when another goes missing, its a race against time to stop him.Another great read in the series. This one is pretty dark and gross at times but you kind of expect that with the author. She really digs into the gritty dark side. We also meet Sara Linton which is good. Having read later ones I was looking forward to this. The plot is steady and builds to the expected dramatic climax. I didn't figure out the killer. Poor Will he's always getting hurt. That man has more lives than a cat. Another brilliant read.

Deep Psychological storyline
This book is my second K Slaughter book and this was so different from the first one. I could not stop reading this book. The first few pages I was wondering what the story was going to be about as I do not always read the synopsis before purchasing. I thought it would not hold my attention I was so wrong. It's a very deep disturbing story so not for the faint-hearted, but it captured and held my attention all the way through, because I needed to know how it ended and I knew it was only fiction. I never give many details away as I don't like spoiling any reads, but women and torture features heavily in the plot, just in case it's not for you.

Another terrifying, unexpected shocker.
I seem to have come late to this party but I am listening now. Five stars for shock, horror, pleasure, surprise need I go on. Nothing prepared me for this book. I love the way you can try to uravel the cases as the story develops. I love this guy. He is like an onion, with each new layer drawing his character out. Love him. Each character is great, especially Betty, what a clever idea Karen. Not being a spoiler im not going to deconstruct this novel. However, I urge you to pick up Tryptich, the first in this series and treat yourself to a fabulous reading experience. It will leave you like me wanting more.

Felt like watching a thriller movie.
I like authors who spend time developing their characters. It is even better when that extra bit is incorporated into a thrilling plot. Karin has done it so well. The two main protagonists, Will and Faith, although are loggerheads, seem to have a really good friendship going as both of them work on the cases together. We get to know both their secret past which they are not opening up to each other. Not yet, I guess. From here, the readers get to engage with them emotionally. This is what I like. The plot thickens as it goes and so gripping. I can’t let go of each word in the book, I have to read, sometime to reread, just to be sure I read it right. I wanted to be in the scenes. I wanted to feel with the characters and feel for them. The rib-removal scene was so gruesome, I cringed just by reading about the way the doctor described the probable heinous act.I’m not going to stop at just one Karin’s novel. I’m going to get more of her books. They are chilling, emotional and so real. For 2018, this will be my to-read list series.
